Jazeera Airs Audio Tape Said to Be of Bin Laden
- snip -

DUBAI (Reuters) - The Arabic television channel Al Jazeera on Sunday aired a purported audio tape from al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden (news - web sites) in which he urged Muslims to fight against the U.S. occupation in Iraq (news - web sites).

The speaker mentioned the capture of former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein (news - web sites) by U.S. forces in December, indicating that the tape was made within the past three weeks.

The tape criticized Gulf Arab governments for supporting the U.S. invasion of Iraq, urging that the fight against U.S. forces should be with arms not through dialogue.

The speaker on the tape also called on Muslims to fight against what he called conspiracies against Islam.

1. And in other news ...
... Analysts who examined the purported al-Qaida tape said Sunday that background noises on the tape were definitely not those of cows at the presidential ranch in Crawford, Texas. Nope, no way, nosiree.

All hail the homeland.

4. SKY NEWS?
Well, then, it must be true!

/sarcasm

Take a close look at that picture. That is NOT Osama bin Laden. Not unless he got a facelift and some new kidneys!

7. And again, I state: THAT IS NOT BIN LADEN.
The picture at the Sky News link is NOT bin Laden. The attempt is so bad, it's insulting.

I realize we're talking about an alleged new audio tape. I'm also mentioning that the picture at the Sky News story is a joke. That man looks too young to be bin Laden.

(BTW, funny graphic - but the creator should edit it to say "get elected", as Bush was never legally elected in the first place.)

8. R.E.S.P.E.C.T.
It is really sad to see
Osama get less press than that Crocidile hunter guy's baby.

Osama is now getting
LESS RESPECT
than Rodney Dangerfield.

9. I am SO tired of these "poor quality" tapes!!!
Why is it that every time we get another tape, it has "several other voices" on it; its of "poor quality", has "backround noises" or more than one segment spliced together, etc.
Just how hard would it be for a handheld video of Osama holding up a current newspaper and talking directly to the camera? is he in that bad of shape? is he really already dead? even when we get video, he's talking on a tape seperately. I just wonder what kind of shape he is REALLY in.
