Bush Says Resolve on Iraq `Strong as It's Ever Been'
Source: Bloomberg News

Sept. 8 (Bloomberg) -- President George W. Bush said he is as committed as ever to keeping up the fight against insurgents and terrorists in Iraq after meeting with U.S. military personnel wounded in the conflict and their families.

``My resolve is as strong as it's ever been,'' Bush said at Hickam Air Force Base in Hawaii during a refueling stop on his way back to Washington from Sydney, Australia, where he attended an economic conference.

The president also urged members of Congress to ``sit back and listen'' to Army General David Petraeus before taking any actions to change the U.S. course. The top military commander in Iraq is scheduled to deliver a status report to lawmakers early next week.

--
Bush said earlier today that he will address the nation next week, when an administration progress report on the war is due in Congress, to outline his ``vision for future involvement in Iraq'' after consulting with military officials and Congress.

12. Translation: "Sit down, shut up and let me drive!"
The sad thing is, the Dems will probably do just that. God forbid they challenge the Boy King.

p.s., Calling * a "jerkoff" is an insult to masturbators everywhere.

5. When one person believes his is the only opinion that counts...
...and he happens to be running a country, that's a dictatorship. And, as we all know, Bush thinks that would be a heck of a lot easier to run than a democracy, as long as he's the dictator.

He wasn't kidding. He never does.

9. "...the fight against insurgents and terrorists in Iraq..."
Edited on Sat Sep-08-07 08:20 PM by necso
That's revealing framing (revealing of a mindset, not just a heavily-marketed propaganda-frame): "insurgents", "terrorists".

Those terrorists, of course, are the ones who are going to follow us back here if we leave Iraq -- per the storyline. And those insurgents are whoever gets tangled up in counterinsurgency operations (run by our counterinsurgency experts). ... A nice, tight, closed, little storyline, suitable for framing.

But it's a rather unilluminating and ineffective way to look at the ongoing, complex civil war, widespread criminality, etc -- and the lack of any real, effective government -- in Iraq.

11. Bush has no
creditability none! Congress needs to stop funding this war. Iraq is sucking us dry of American lives and money. I will not vote for any senator or congress women and man that funds this war and everyone should do the same if you think that this was a unjust war.

You never did give that approach up. More of the same... that's all bushco has ever had to offer. You require America to remain bent over, gripping our ankles, and pleading "Please, sir, may I have another?"
