Ha Noi (VNA) - Canada will offer a one-time payment of 20,000 CAD (close to 19,200 USD) to people who say their health was harmed by US military Agent Orange (AO) spray programmes at a base in eastern Canada 40 years ago, Defence Minister Peter MacKay said.
Roughly 4,500 people are expected to be eligible for the payment, at a total cost of 96 million CAD (92 million USD).

Canadian officials said it was the only time the powerful defoliants - widely used during the Viet Nam War - were sprayed in Canada.
