Bush: Iraq 'fighting for its survival'
Source: UPI

WASHINGTON, Sept. 13 (UPI) -- President George W. Bush said Thursday the United States “must help Iraq defeat those who threaten its future -- and also threaten ours."

In a prime time address to the nation, Bush outlined his plan for conducting the war in Iraq.

"Terrorists and extremists who are at war with us around the world are seeking to topple Iraq’s government, dominate the region and attack us here at home," Bush said in excerpts released in advance of his address.

Iraq, Bush said, "is fighting for its survival. This ally has placed its trust in the United States."

8. Bush the Butcher mentioned in his speech that our military has killed 1500
"enemy fighters" per month. Someone should ask how many of those 1500 were Al Qaeda and foreign fighters and how many were Iraqi men women and children. We are not fighting Al Qaeda in Iraq we're fighting Iraqis.

12. phony letter, why?
Anyone else notice that light passing through the letter did not appear to reveal any print? Or that the condition of the paper hardly looked like it had been handled, mail or otherwise? Or that Bush was able to jump directly to the line he wanted to quote? Seems like a pretty silly thing to stage.

13. Considering that the Iraqi people did not invite the US
to invade their country, and they have been fighting like hell ever since to get rid of us, I think Bush is completely blowing smoke out his ass. If he actually believes the crap he's spewing, he is even sicker and more delusional than I thought.
