CBS 2 To Expose Security Concerns At Nuclear Plant
Multi-Part Series From Scott Weinberger Begins Monday, Sept. 24 At 11 P.M.

(CBS) NEW YORK WCBS-TV’s Investigative Reporter Scott Weinberger obtained exclusive and shocking footage from a nuclear power plant close to our area that raises serious concern about our safety and protection from terrorism.

On Monday, Sept. 24, CBS 2 News at 11PM will feature the first of a multi-part series, showing exclusive footage only given to CBS 2 News of security officers sleeping on the job at one of the largest nuclear plants in the country. This investigation also uncovers the potential and disastrous results if there were any terrorist attacks against this plant, with damage reaching areas including Philadelphia, NY and Washington, D.C. The report also delves into similar incidents of inattentiveness happening in other nuclear power plants such as Indian Point in Westchester.

Also included in this exclusive series are interviews and comments from a security officer who was formerly a member of the Wackenhut Corp. security team, representatives from government watchdog groups, the NRC, Exelon Corp., and the man who actually shot the disturbing footage.

2. Not a fair presentation of reality

"Ready rooms" are break rooms. Guards are "technically" not allowed to sleep there. But they are on break and posts are covered by those not on break. Hysteria about stupid things doesn't address any real threats nuclear plants may pose to the public.
