If only Rudy Giuliani were President. With his "Post 9/11" philosophy, everyone else could have been armed to protect themselves...

2. Not really... Rudy has a big 2nd-amendment problem...
If only Rudy Giuliani were President. With his "Post 9/11" philosophy, everyone else could have been armed to protect themselves...

Actually, he's probably the gun-grabbingest GOP candidate imaginable; as far as guns go, he might as well have been Feinstein during the '90s. Pro-gun-rights Democrats like me are salivating at the idea Rudy getting the GOP nod and our running a ticket that is friendlier to the right to keep and bear arms than the GOP's...

You apparently didn't get the memo that "9/11 changed averything"(tm). Meet the NEW Rudy Giuliani:

Giuliani Defends Right to Bear Arms
By LIZ SIDOTI and LIBBY QUAID – 2 hours ago

NEW YORK (AP) — Rudy Giuliani, who sued firearms manufacturers and called for tough gun control as New York's mayor, said Tuesday the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks and a recent court ruling framed his current defense of a right to own guns.

"You have to look at all of these issues in light of the different concerns that now exist, which is terrorism, the terrorists' war on us," the Republican presidential contender told The Associated Press in an interview. He also mentioned immigration and border security.

He said his thinking on gun rights also was influenced by a federal appeals court decision that overturned a 30-year-old ban on private ownership of handguns in Washington on the grounds that the Constitution gives individual citizens the right to own guns.

"It is a very, very strong description of how important personal liberties are in this country and how we have to respect them," he said of the ruling, adding it "sort of maybe even did more to crystalize my thinking on the whole gun issue in light of Sept. 11."

5. At least this version of the story
does not try to describe the rifle by grabbing five random gun words and glue them together like multiple other versions of the story have done...

7. You mean...
... the ".50 caliber single-bolt-pump black-powder semi-full-auto shotrifle"?

8. ".50-caliber rifle" indeed
Edited on Wed Sep-26-07 07:44 PM by slackmaster
It's a black powder muzzle-loading single-shot hunting rifle without the ram-rod that is required to load it. (Not that it may not be loaded, they still hadn't determined that.)

But all most of us are going to hear is ".50-caliber rifle".

10. What is it with the crazy people?
Why is it lunatics have to hear a voice that says "shoot people"?

Why can't they hear voices that say "have an orange" or "brush your hair"?

:dunce:
