Iraqi Police, Witnesses: 10 Civilians Killed in US Raid in Baghdad
Source: Voice of America

Iraqi police and witnesses say U.S. forces have killed 10 civilians and wounded several others during a raid on a building in a mostly Sunni neighborhood in southern Baghdad.

Police say an unknown number of people were detained after U.S. helicopters attacked the building during the pre-dawn raid in the Sihha district.

There has been no comment from the U.S. military.

On Thursday, the military said it was investigating the deaths of five women and four children in a village, Babahani, south of Baghdad, where U.S. forces had been conducting ground and air operations. A statement said structures in the area have been used as safe houses for al-Qaida in Iraq.

1. Damn, what the hell is going on? What does this say about the
mentality of the people we've got over there with weapons?

I've read and heard all the yak yak yak about 'they're scared, they're under pressure, they're this and they're that' (they're being Americans occupying somebody elses country). But really, killing women and children is becoming, or has become rather, commonplace.

This is bullshit.

4. How long until the UN intervenes on behalf of Iraq? And where would
we be without the internet? In 1940 Germany, probably.
