Iraqi VP Says His Country Will Not Be Used As Base To Attack Iran Or Syria
Source: Associated Press

DAMASCUS, Syria: Iraq's vice president said Saturday that his country will not be used as a base to launch attacks against Iran or Syria.

Adel Abdul-Mahdi said he discussed security and other regional issues with Syrian President Bashar Assad during their meeting Saturday.

In response to a reporter's question about a possible U.S. military strike against Iran, the Iraqi vice president said: "Iraq does not accept that its territory be used for any aggression against any neighboring country."

"Iraq has an (Arab) identity which it is keen on and will defend," he told reporters at the Damascus Airport at the end of a three-day visit to Syria.

Abdul-Mahdi said he discussed security issues with Assad adding that Assad stressed Syria's support for the political process in Iraq. He said Syria had an important role to play in the political process of Iraq due to its "weight" in the Arab world.

says. Do they not realize that they are just puppets. Are they (The Iraqi government)just waking up to the fact that they're being used and america don't care about your so called sovereignty or democracy.

10. Iraqis are trying to be sovereign and democratic.
But, our War-Criminals-in-Chiefs will have none of it. They think the US owns Iraq. I guess because Colin Powell said, "you break it, you buy it".

It looks like Iraqis will one day have to revolt against the occupiers to ever have sovereignty.

How many hours until the "clarification" is issued--and will we be able to see Cheney's lips move?
