Watada court-martial stopped

A federal judge in Tacoma has delayed the court-martial of 1st Lt. Ehren Watada, who refused to deploy to Iraq.

In a rare intervention of a civilian court in the military justice system, U.S. District Court Judge Benjamin H. Settle granted the emergency stay shortly before close of business Friday. Watada's trial, slated to begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday, is now postponed until at least Oct. 26, the judge ruled.

In the meantime, Settle intends to hear arguments whether the court-martial would violate Watada's protections against double jeopardy. His first court-martial earlier this year ended in a mistrial.

5. I think who ever is the President presuming he/she is a Dem....

Should immediately from the podium after the swearing in and before any blubbery vacuous speeches pardon every single soldier who refused to obey illegal orders from the criminal Bush/Cheney regime. THen I think the next order of business should be to have military police come down to the front row or wherever Bush and his cronies are sitting and have them arrested for war crimes. NOW THAT WOULD BE A JOY TO BEHOLD! Not to mention what it would do for our relations around the world! Just remember and observe what is happening to the Pinochet family even today. Bush and his cronies should be hounded to their graves!
