Sam's Club Beef Recalled After Illness
Source: Assocated Press

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- The Sam's Club warehouse chain has pulled a brand of ground beef patties from its shelves nationwide after four children who ate the food, produced by Cargill Inc., developed E. coli illness.

Cargill asked customers to return any remaining patties purchased after Aug. 26 to the store or destroy them.

The children became ill between Sept. 10 and Sept. 20 after eating ground beef patties that were bought frozen under the name American Chef's Selection Angus Beef Patties from three Sam's Club stores in the Twin Cities area.

Sam's Club voluntarily removed the product from its stores nationwide after the illnesses were reported, the company said.

It's beginning to feel like all I post about is tainted food! Never know when it might help someone here, though.

1. Man, I wish I had a freezer big enough for all those patties.
I never really worry about E.coli because I always cook everything well done.
Is that enough?

3. They say that's enough,
but I guess there's still a risk.

14. THAT IS FALSE INFORMATION
I have diverticulosis, had it for years. Eating meat does not cause it, eating food with seeds (tomatoes, etc.) will not aggravate it. This all from my gastrointerologists, who has one simple and effective recommendation, stay hydrated.

The cause, life.

I still have two boxes in my freezer, (not the recall date), and we finished off a box the other day (the recall date) and no one got sick.

Them are some taste burgers (best I have ever found or made), and when we serve them at cookouts people just rave about them.

PS was in Sam's this afternoon, they had these in stock, and people were buying them.

4. Wally Mart pulled theirs also.
Same company. But "Sam's Club voluntarily removed the product"?

What else were they going to do? Kill people? :P

5. This is only the beginning. Food is going to become more scarce.
The rich will be able to get their meals and the poor will have nothing.

Its a damn good thing I had another early box and told my family members to use the older box first. Then again I was sick for 4 days after I had one of those too. I give up I'm going to my buddys butcher shop from now on at least I can see the meat and the place is clean.
