'God' now allowed on certificates for Capitol flags

WASHINGTON — While the war, immigration and federal spending priorities defy solutions, conservative lawmakers clamed victory Thursday on one front:

They've compelled the architect of the U.S. Capitol to reverse a ban on using the word "God" in the framed certificates that mark honorary American flags flown over the Capitol.

"Today, we won a great victory for American traditions, religious freedoms and freedom of expression," said Rep. Michael Turner, an Ohio Republican.

Turner and 160 fellow lawmakers demanded that the ban be lifted in a letter Turner sent to Stephen T. Ayers, acting architect of the Capitol.

I'm sure if you're a cristo-fascist then it's a win. However if we got any other religious ideology on the documents the same people would be screaming.

How about a star of david or a yin/yang next to that "God".

Why does the MSM allow comments such as this to stand unchallenged. It is patently obvious that this is a BLOW to religious freedom, not a boon. And yet the statement is there, unchallenged. This, in a microcosm, is how we got to where we are today, and why it will be so very difficult to extract ourselves from this GOP tainted reality. As long as bogus statements like this are allowed to stand, there can be no valid dialog or debate on...anything.

The FACT is this violates the separation of Church and State and inhibits the Freedom of Religion. That is a fact, although you won't find any valid discussion of this fact anywhere in the MSM, because they're all too busy pinning flags on their lapels. :grr:
