US-Russia missile defense talks fail

By ROBERT BURNS and MATTHEW LEE, Associated Press Writers 19 minutes ago

MOSCOW - High-level talks Friday between the United States and Russia failed to bridge major differences over U.S. plans for a missile defense system in Europe and a range of strategic arms issues.

........Rice said the ideas that she and Gates presented are "conceptual at this point" and would be handed to experts to consider further. The two sides plan to meet again in Washington in about six months.

"I know that we don't always see eye-to-eye on every element of the solutions to these issues, nonetheless, I believe we will do this in a constructive spirit, that we will make progress during these talks as we continue to pursue cooperation," Rice said.

6. and that's bullshit.
she wrote an economic paper on a particular, obscure 5 yr plan.
She cannot speak russkie DESPITE taking State courses. (they exaggerated her linguistic skill something awfu. My best friend was there as a State interpreter for the first trip, she could not even understand their "Hello and welcom to Russia greeting" when she got off the plane.)

10. Exactly. And no one in the limp-dick media ever called them on it.
Just like her "Concert Pianist" schtick. The one time I heard her play, I was actually embarrassed for her. She was awful.

Hell, I am a guitar player and I can play better than she can.

and has been since college. Big Oil has worked on her future, groomed her, named this itty bitty oil tanker after her, placed her as provost, suggested russian studies (the ussr still existed back then) and pushed her into the proper political connections.

and Shitler and his bozo's have put this country in such a strong negotiating position, building a strong foundation from a deck of crooked cards. You can bet Shitler will, with the strength of quicksilver, stand behind his agreements. After all he has honored all the past international agreements so well. In reality who would bet their lives on and negotiate with this government and expect this government to keep its word. And that is truly dangerous and sad.

9. Odd
we came to better agreement during the Cold War against bloodiy handed adversaries of the old Soviet Union. Now that we have the upper hand so to speak we can't work for sanity or peace. How very strange and disappointing. Did some Russian bang his shoe on the table or something?

11. Russia, simply by biding its time, will become a superpower again
Edited on Fri Oct-12-07 01:40 PM by loindelrio
within the next two decades due to the TREASONOUS policies of the Republican party.

With their position as a energy superpower, they will be poised to recapture the USSR's position when the US and western European economies falter due to energy depletion.

And by playing both sides against each other as they are doing with the Iran/United States crises, they can become that superpower again practically overnight.
