Leader of Fresno panel quits
http://www.fresnobee.com/local/story/7981116p-8852478c.html

The Fresno Human Relations Commission chairwoman who called a local conservative organization a "hate group" resigned as the city reached a lawsuit settlement over her comments.
Debbie Reyes announced her resignation through an e-mail that was read Thursday evening at the commission meeting.

Reyes did not attend the meeting, but her e-mail said that she stepped down "due to a recent career opportunity that will require a great amount of my time and attention."

another reason to stay out of Fresno, as if a sane person needed one--damn Freepers!

1. What about the Fresno councilman who said liberals should be nuked?
Is he still on the city council?

the worst published transgressions were those of Ann Kloose
http://fresnobee.com/local/story/7445083p-8362760c.html
and the ridiculous actions of her boss, Brian Calhoun, the biggest asshole I have ever seen in a public office, were a wonder to behold. The most interesting fact that I was just presented with, is that the city computers were "maintained" right before the Fresno Bee was given access to the emails, and the things that might have been learned about Mayor Bubba Alan Autry/Carlos Brown emails were removed from that database. In other words, sad sack Jerry Duncan was fed to the wolves, for one reason or another. I suspect certain votes on certain giveaways may have been behind these moves, but I have no detailed knowledge there. A city run by the mafia, for the mafia and of the mafia. Fresno is quite the huge joke on its citizens, dont forget to laugh.

2. OMG I'm dying here
You just have to read the link...

<snip>
"Charles Doerksen, Free Republic's lawyer, said the city agreed to retract Reyes' comments and pay money to Free Republic."

<snip>
""It's cheaper to pay these guys $20 and get rid of them than waste an attorney's time on them," Castillo {council president} said."

Charles Doerksen?

And what are they gonna do with all the cash, rent a new porta-potty?

3. Maybe RimJob will be able to buy a second RV now...
... a LOT of people have questions about where mister disabled patriot web site operator got all that money to purchase his tweaked-out recreational vehicle -- but I'm sure most of the SHeepers are either clueless or don't care that they might have been scammed...

5. "Charles Doerksen, Free Republic's lawyer..."
... and that reminds me: whatever happened to PeeOnTheRepublic's old lawyer, the robustly hyped Brian Buckley? Could it have something to do with the way that he bungled the lawsuit that the WashPost and LA Times filed against PeeOnTheRepublic for stealing their intellectual property? Or does it have more to do with RimJob's paranoid rants against Buckley and others he deems "enemies" of PeeOnTheRepublic?

I'm tellin' ya, that site not only provides plenty of belly laffs but immense insight into the paranoid world of neo-fascist psychology.

But newspapers and magazines should take note: the site also provides tons and tons and tons and tons of opportunity to sue for copyright violations. Given the way the WP/LAT lawsuit ended -- with PeeOnTheRepublic bruised and vulnerable -- I'm surprised nobody's fired a follow-up volley, especially given the way that RimJob can so easily lure the SHeepers into pissing nearly a quarter of a million bucks a year into his cesspool of hatred, intimidation, paranoia, and unintended comedy.
