1. IG brought up a point the other, but I couldn't find ya!
The point is, are we being told of the death count after one is seriously wounded and then die several weeks later? How does the pentagon count?

4. As far as I know AP does count those who die later from their wounds

AP may run a few days behind, but they do seem to be trying to keep an accurate count.

6. 497 at cnn.com - 500 by SOTU?
CNN's site has the official count at 497
http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2003/iraq/forces/casualties/

A macabre milestone but 500 might be the total on or before Shrub's SOTU (1/20/04). Will * get up there and tell us 500 Amercians have died but everything is going fine in Iraq?

Can't wait for the recap of last year's SOTU lies.

7. Don, did either of us think it would get this bad?
Really. We are into Vietnam redux, real big now. Real big. Too bad we cannot have coverage of the coffins coming into Dover.

9. "Non-hostile" fatalities more common
...than "non-hostile" wounded. The Orwellian breakdown is bogus.

12. Living Hell
and these kids are in it.
My stepson called us from Fort Dix the other night..they have him on hold in New Jersey..about to be shipped to Ft Campbell, where he goes to Iraq or Afghanistan...we are hoping they might come to their senses and send him to Cuba, where, we know he might be safe, but we doubt it.
In the meantime, we dont know how to get a hold of him and the army hasnt paid his rent, which they are supposed to do, so we have to meet with his landlord and figure out what went wrong.
Bastards.
The body bags are ignored, folks, the coffins are ignored, and the US populace is willfully ignorant. If they wanted to know or care, they could.
