The ousted Iraqi dictator, who is currently under custody with the coalition forces, suffers from cancer of lymph glands, Kuwaiti Al-Anba daily reads, citing an Iraqi official. 2. 500 had to die, 11,000 injuries because Saddam had to go NOW
Americans weren't clawing at the wallpaper to oust him before the Bushies arrived. Two years later, or less, and nature would have taken its course.

Gee, and the money the US could have saved, or spent on our dilapidated social system...

3. If that's the case then a war crime trial would be pointless...
By the time it was finished he'd already be deceased.

5. right
An "advanced" case of this kind of cancer would not have that kind of prognosis. And one of the telltale signs of the disease is weight loss. I doubt that Hussein would be in as good shape as he's in after eight months or so of running, without medical treatment.

6. Iraq had the best medical system in the world!!
They would have been able to keep Saddam alive for years. Locked away in one of those palace, he would have lived forever - he just wouldn't have taken any visitors.

Imagine a Cheney adminstration (shudder), just like that, sorta.

:silly:

7. So they jumped right over the "let's find a
Lee Harvey Oswald and avoid a big messy trial" option to the "let's just turn him into Jack Ruby" solution. Makes me think that this is why the Pentagon gave him the enemy prisoner of war status.

Although this story has yet to be verified by the mainstream media, we'll keep it in LBN for the time being.

Here is the original LBN thread on this topic:

Report: Saddam Hussein Has Cancer

jonoboy, it would be very helpful if you could add your new link to the existing thread, for continuity.

Thanks!
