Police have dismantled a marijuana grow operation in a Vancouver Island home owned by David Basi, former assistant to the provincial finance minister.
The drug raid happened over the Christmas holidays around the same time as a raid on Basi's office in the British Columbia legislature.
Basi has been a prominent campaign organizer in the Indo-Canadian community for both the B.C. and federal Liberal parties.
He worked for Prime Minister Paul Martin during last year's federal Liberal leadership campaign.

2. Yeah, but that's not the story.
The story is that Liberal party workers are involved in trading BC pot for coke and using proceeds to buy Liberal party memberships.

3. Way more involved than drugs...
"Time for inquiry on B.C. Rail

The RCMP raids the legislature, looking for what? BN/Omnitrax lobbyist's offices are raided. Gary Collins' finance assistant fired, Judith Reid's transportation assistant suspended. Why? Because they were involved in the auction/sale of B.C. Rail?

CPR withdraws from the process, citing alleged improprieties; BN/Omnitrax feels the same, but stays the course. CIBC, supposedly impartial, says CNR was a "natural fit"; accused of collusion.

The raids take place, house leader Collins remarks, "This has nothing to do with the sale of B.C. Rail." The search warrant relates to a 20-month organized crime investigation, so why would Collins suggest the B.C. Rail sale?

The NDP suffered the indignity of "Bingogate." Premier Mike Harcourt, though not involved, did the honourable thing and resigned.

Also I am sure a lot this is someway connected to the ongoing investigation of Khalsa Credit Union (GST fraud, welfare fraud, drug laundering, air India involvement) etc etc
