Daily U.S. Military Deaths in Iraq - 495 U.S. service members have died
Odd thing is that I have been watching these AP updates for months now and they have never released an update over the weekend before. Wonder why they have changed that policy?

As of Sunday, Jan. 11, 495 U.S. service members have died since the beginning of military operations in Iraq (news - web sites), according to the Defense Department. Of those, 342 died as a result of hostile action and 153 died of non-hostile causes, the department said. snip

Since May 1, when President Bush (news - web sites) declared that major combat operations in Iraq had ended, 357 U.S. soldiers have died — 227 as a result of hostile action and 130 of non-hostile causes, according to the Defense Department's figures.
