Bush Iraq war advisors launch tirade against France
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/afp/20040112/ts_alt_afp/us_eu_france_iraq&cid=1506&ncid=1480

WASHINGTON (AFP) - French opposition to the Iraq war has prompted two of President George W. Bush's Iraq war advisors to recommend limiting US military ties to France and seeking to isolate it in Europe.

France's President Jacques Chirac "volunteered as Saddam Hussein's most important ally and protector," Richard Perle and David Frum said in their new book "An End to Evil."

The authors, whose promotional tour began Monday, promote a so-called neo-conservative use of US military force to pacify the world.

They take aim at countries they said stand in the way of Bush's "War on Terror," especially Saudi Arabia, Russia and France. The authors said that French diplomacy had been "hostile."

Boy, that Richard Perle sure is one handsome motherscratcher...

13. Post what you think of it after watching
It's about an hour long. The last Pilger documentary I bought, on East Timor, cost me about $30. I'm elated this is on the net. Watch it while you can.

29. This is an excellent film.
I saw it 2-3 months ago and it was quite enlightening. I'd sure like to download it and burn it to a CD with the Truthout.org movie.

4. Even as their duplicitious ways are demonstrated to the world
they can't help but continue to attempt to make the US further isolated and mistrusted. Dangerous men with dangerous mouths who know that (at least in this life) they will not ever have to 'pay' the consequences of their foolhardy actions - as they ask others to commit their lives to fighting their wars for them. All the while they cavalierly risk national security and thumb their noses at the US citizens who are making them rich as our tax dollars go to contracts for security and rebuilding that are directly connected (through "consulting") to Perle.

5. you can tell he is evil
Edited on Mon Jan-12-04 12:38 PM by el_gato
just by looking at him

Generals gathered in their masses
Just like witches at black masses
Evil minds that plot destruction
Sorcerers of death's construction
In the fields the bodies burning as the war machine keeps turning
Death and hatred to mankind
Poisoning their brainwashed minds... Oh lord yeah!

Politicians hide themselves away
They only started the war
Why should they go out to fight?
They leave that role to the poor
Time will tell on their power minds
Making war just for fun
Treating people just like pawns in chess
Wait 'till their judgement day comes, yeah!

Now in darkness, world stops turning
As the war machine keeps burning
No more war pigs of the power
Hand of god has sturck the hour
Day of judgement, god is calling on their knees, the war pigs crawling
Begging mercy for their sins
Satan, laughing, spreads his wings

OH LORD YEAH!

7. How DARE the French request 30 additional days for inspection
before bombing the crap out of a country! They obviously support Saddam if they want PROOF that Iraq is an imminent threat. :eyes:

12. But don't you see, bush had decide about 700 days before that he
was going to "F*ck Saddam...we're takin' him out," so another 30 days wouldn't have made a difference.

Here's the real problem: the bushies had Saddam on double secret probation from the get-go, so any kind of infraction, and he was doomed. When Ahmed Blutarski pulled that panty raid on the Iraqi girl's dorm, well, it was curtains for SH.

It also didn't help that Saddam skipped over the double and triple dare yous and all but triple-dog-dared the inspectors to find any WMD. You just don't break playground etiquette like that, especially with the bushies.

8. Perle so despises the French that he owns a home in...France!
Edited on Mon Jan-12-04 12:45 PM by stopbush
As usual, the true patriots put their money where their mouth is when it comes to their elitist policies. You wonder if they actually believe anything they say.

I'd love to see the French organize some protests outside of Perle's chateau. But then, why should they bother themselves with yet another cockroach?

Richard Perle n'est pas l'Amérique !

15. They are still trying for Europe
What he really wants is a Le Pen or severely chastened and weak conservative like Chirac. Those plans went very sour. The truth is this an example how no rivalry(for oil mostly) will be tolerated, how the Right Wing international competition always turns internecine, ruining their "global" schemes.

Just plain stupid sometimes like Perle's other criminal schemes and bullying. He needs a long jail term to write some new memoirs which would be more edifying. These constant opinion campaigns against all the world are insane, six degrees beyond stupid. Obviously the real object of his hate is humankind in general. The French(their leaders, people don't count) are only a convenient deflection.

9. Here comes the scorched earth policy
I think these idiots finally realize that they're going to lose in 04 (even with Diebold's help) and they want to screw up foreign relations to the point where the next president will have no choice but to spend all his time mending fences. I believe they underestimate our candidates and the world.

18. Interesting wording...
Not "THE" war on Terror, but "BUSH'S" War on Terror.

And I like the caps on War on Terror, as if it's a brand name.

"Bush's War on Terror (copyright Bushco)
"Brought to you by, Halliburton! And now for these messages from our sponsor."

Also, I know we've been through it a million times, but again, they are mixing terrorism and Iraq into the same concept. It is not actually said that Iraq and terrorism are linked, but the story flows as if it's a natural progression.

And look at this paragraph:
"They take aim at countries they said stand in the way of Bush's "War on Terror," especially Saudi Arabia, Russia and France. The authors said that French diplomacy had been "hostile."

Almost EVERYONE will assume that France's public "hostility" to the war, is the same hostility expressed here as hostility towards the War on terror (tm).

Either they are two different "hostilities", (the hostility to the War on Terror not having been public, as far as I know), or somebody considers hostility to the war as the same thing as hostility to the War on Terror.

I'm not sure if these are problems with the story writer, or Perle and Frum. Probably both.

21. France is the new boogeyman
We have run fresh out of black hatted bad guys (that W&Co. want to mention time and time again) so France is the easy target.

How do you isolate a country that is in the middle of the continent?

He wrote the "axis of Evil" line and his wife sent an e-mail to friends bragging on her husband (understandable) and it got back to the White House, he was unceremoniously canned within a week. No one is allowed to take the limelight from W as he is the LEADER who makes DECISIVE DECISIONS!!!!!!

O'Neill proves that wrong.

Edited on Mon Jan-12-04 08:07 PM by teryang
While he rails against the French he lives in France. Ostensibly, he is trying to weaken the EU as much as possible. At the same time, he is dragging the American government down into the fascist toilet and harming our national interests every time he opens his mouth.

He should be followed by the FBI everywhere. His phones should be tapped, his accounts audited weekly, and his homes should be bugged.

He pretends to be the heir apparent to the Machiavellian Kissenger, but he is working for someone else.
