Shaheen rips Clark on Praise for GOP
http://www.theunionleader.com/articles_showa.html?article=31520

MANCHESTER (AP) - Former Gov. Jeanne Shaheen, the national chairwoman of John Kerry's campaign, renewed criticism Monday of Wesley Clark's praise for the Bush administration two years ago.

Shaheen, former state party chairman Joe Keefe and state Senate Democratic leader Sylvia Larsen, pointed out that Clark was a keynote speaker at a Republican fundraiser in 2001, and that he praised President Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney and other members of the Bush administration. They played a video of the May 2001 address at an Arkansas GOP fund-raiser.

"I'm very glad we've got the great team in office, men like Colin Powell, Don Rumsfeld, Dick Cheney, Condoleezza Rice, Paul O'Neill - people I know very well - our President George W. Bush. We need them there, because we've got some tough challenges ahead in Europe," Clark said in the speech.

Shaheen said "the issue here is this candidate is not a Democrat," and doesn't support Democratic values.

Not. Care to expound? Or should it just be self-evident?

12. really? Fill us in on her ignorance.
Perhaps the low-lights of her political career...? Would appreciate knowing if this is an informed opinion from you or a knee-jerk reaction.

2. Jeez, it's time for the Kerry campaign to say something positive
They're right there attacking any Democrat ahead of them in the polls. Yet they don't mind lavishing praise on President Bush and the war in Iraq.

6. look at when comments were made
Those comments were made like 3-5 months after 9-11. I believe that most Americans were HOPING that Bush and his boys had their shtuff together. They did have experience. Clark was assuming they would do the right thing and deal with the terrorism issue efficiently and ably. Was he supposed to hope they would fail?

Well, we all know what happened and we all know Clark got in the race because of their poor decisions.

I guess Shaheen's idea of a good democrat is one that gives a republican war monger president authority to do whatever the hell he wants.

7. Uhh, no...
Clark's comments were made in May, 2001, ie: 4 months before the attacks of Sept 11, 2001.

Really, you should be more careful.

11. Sure is nice to have Kerry on the right side.
Fighting with Democrats instead of against them.
