Can we finally get some moves to sanction Zell now? Don't you think he's harmed the Party enough yet?

Talk about not having a spine.

6. Zell Miller is truly a traitor to his party
I am very sympathetic to moderate and conservative Democrats. I basically am one.

But Zell is a disgusting traitor to the party. If there were some way to do a political excommunication of Zell Miller from the National Democratic Party I would be all for it.

This guy stays in the party just to hurt it. The entire plan was probably hatched by Rove. Make sure Zell doesn't switch to the GOP so Bush can have a "Democrat" on the campaign trail supporting him. "Democrats" for Bush! What garbage.

Zell Miller isn't even honest enough to switch to the Party he really supports now.

Again, I support moderate and conservative Democrats. But at the end of the day I expect all of us to support the party regardless of who our candidates are and who is finally nominated. If Zell didn't like the current crop of candidates he could have encouraged someone to jump in, or for that matter run for the Democratic nomination himself. Hell, he's got Lieberman - if Zell can't get behind a rightwing Democrat like Joe Lieberman it is obvious he wouldn't be able to support anyone in the party.

Zell digusts me.

10. Make sure to call him on this if he endorses anyone for his seat.
###
"I will neither endorse nor campaign for any candidate seeking this seat, but I will resign within days after the November 2004 election so that my successor can begin to serve immediately and gain additional seniority.

U.S. Sen. Zell Miller, Georgia's rebellious Democrat, said Tuesday he will campaign at President Bush's side throughout the year.

Miller's first task in trying to seal the Republican president's re-election grip on his crucial Southern base will be to introduce Bush at a $2,000-a-head fund-raiser Thursday in Atlanta.

The lame-duck senator is to be accompanied by "other Georgia Democrats" who also will endorse the president, according to the Bush-Cheney campaign. But Bush officials would not identify the other Democrats.

Miller first endorsed the president for re-election in October. High-ranking Republicans said discussions about an active campaign role for the former Georgia governor proceeded from there.

(snip)

Bobby Kahn, a long-time ranking Democrat and a candidate to replace Smyre, said: "Senator Miller spent four decades building the Democratic Party in Georgia. He's undoing all of that in the twilight of his career, and it's a sad thing to watch."

17. Why hasn't Daschle kicked Miller out of the Democratic caucus?
Why haven't the Georgia Democrats taken the superdelegate credentials away from Miller?

Where is Miller's protege, Denise Majette, in all of this? Is Cynthia McKinney's nemesis endorsing Bush?

18. first step
if cheney decides not to run on the ticket, bush/miller politically hard to overcome. the perception of a duel party ticket would kneecap whoever the dem nominee ends up.

23. DerBeppo --
-- you're right on this. Cheney doesn't look like he's ready for another 4 years of chimp-sitting, and Karl Rove is evil enough to urge Zell onto the ticket. Holy god that would be a bad thing for Democrats.

19. Some gutsy Georgia Democrat should

just mail in registration change papers for Zell with correct information but an illegible but technically incorrect signature on official Georgia stationary. ('Z. Judas Miller' would be one suggestion.) Then s/he should mail the Atlanta paper a xerox copy a week later with an explanation that s/he merely desires to be helpful to Zell as he has obviously gotten behind on his paperwork.
