12. Especially all the people |
|
who are in jail for smoking a joint. They don't deserve it either.
Sorry, I have a hard time feeling sorry for a schmuck like Fastow. He screwed a lot of people and what he gets in the country club jail that he will go to is nothing in comparison.

14. Fastow, Kenny Boy and the rest of the Enwrong Clan deserve every bit of it |
|
After all, they raped thousands of people financially and are the types that have probably never had to be accountable for anything in their lives. So, I call that good karma.

7. It will indeed be interesting where Fastow does his time before |
|
he's pardoned. Probably go to a swanky country type Federal prison. Something like Ft. Grant where they send the Watergate crook. Golf courses and maid service. (No kidding)

13. A response from Lay’s attorney…. |
|
I think if Fastow “does” have anything on Lay, Ramsey seems to be doing his best in providing an incentive for singing…..if Fastow can….me hopes, me hopes….
DJ Lay Attorney Calls Fastow Plea 'Good News' For Ex-Chairman
NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--Former Enron Corp. (ENRNQ) financial chief Andrew Fastow's admission of guilt Wednesday is "good news" for former Chairman Kenneth Lay, according to Lay's attorney, Mike Ramsey. "What we heard in court today is that he was actually taking money from Enron," Ramsey said in an appearance on CNBC Wednesday. "That's not something you tell the chairman of the board about." While he called the situation "tragic for Mr. Fastow," Ramsey emphasized that there are no charges against Lay. "The truth of it is, (Lay) didn't know of any criminal conduct," he said. "Today is good news," he added. "It is a step forward to resolution in the case." -By Gretchen L. Wilson, Dow Jones Newswires; 201-938-5394 01-14-04 1645ET(AP-DJ-01-14-04 2145GMT)

3. 10 years is a real jail or Club Fed? |
|
I want these white collar economic terrorists to be put in real prisons with the worst, most hard-core offenders: murderers, armed robbers, rapists and child molesters. And if they should be beat up or killed in prison by their fellow prisoners than that's just the chickens coming home to roost.

If he's getting ten years it means he ain't singin'. He probably got the same message they always send..........."Hey Andy, cute kids you got there. It'd be a real shame if something happened to them".
Lay and Skilling will never, ever do any time and probably will never even come to trial. Fuggetaboutit!

9. They'll get you and your little wifey too, Fastow! |
|
I can't believe it....an actual shred of justice meted out to these crooks. I truly hope it leads up the flow chart to Skilling and Lay.
I used to work for a company that specialized in Govt Contracting. My boss kept lusting after Enron's business. I knew they didn't smell right, but he wasn't much of a businessman, so he wouldn't listen. They were the rudest, most pompous pricks on the telephone...

10. Probably do 18 months and then get probation, and then pardoned |
|
with the stipulation that he can't work in a finance institution ever again. Andy will probably wind up selling used cars and making more money than he ever did at Enron.
Kenny and Jeffie baby will enhance Andy baby with a big big payday on top of everything. Only Wendy Gramn knows where the money indeed has been stashed. Phil Gramn's only regret is that he never got to be president of Texas A&M. LOL!! Phil picks pockets in his spare time just to stay sharp.

11. Suppose he gets the ten, and Kenny Boy isn't charged |
|
How does that play for Bushco, etc.? I know Ken Lay is the big fish and the one closest to Bush, but will this be 'good enough' to say that they have pursued the corporate scandals before the election?

16. Prison is America's answer to everything |
|
Two million people behind bars. Other than separating violent predatory criminals, it serves no purpose and costs billions. Fastow is just the fall guy to "reassure investors". Fastow does 10 years and the corporate cheating continues, with zero reform. How does putting fastow in jail prevent this from happening again? So much easier to throw one guy in jail than fix the systemic corruption on Wall Street. This is theater rather than justice, windowdressing rather than corporate regulation. Fastow should have been sentenced to 10 years of full-time work for Habitat for Humanity. And the one million taxpayer dollars that are about to be wasted on Mr. Fastows imprisonment could go to a restitiution fund for Enron employees. Fastow will also have $30 million in assets seized. Wanna bet Enron employees won't see a penny?
btw- in 1999 I invested in a computer co. that turned out to be operated by corporate criminals. This Big Board company went under and all investors lost everything. No officer of this NYSE company was ever charged with anything. Billions were ripped off. The CEO was lucky that the McMedia wasn't interested in his wrongdoing. Last I heard he was living in a mansion in Florida. Justice must be evenly applied or else it becomes a travesty.
