Bush Popularity Rises in California, Poll Shows
Cough, cough, **bullshit**, cough, cough.

...

A Field Poll of 400 registered voters found 52 percent expressing approval of Bush's performance as president, up from 46
percent in September and 50 percent in August.

The biggest change of opinion about Bush came from Democrats, who expressed 29 percent approval in January, up from 19
percent in September.

"Most of the improvement in Bush's overall job rating is due to a moderation in the previously very negative appraisals of the
president's performance by Democratic voters," pollsters Mark DiCamillo and Mervin Field wrote.

10. Blame it on the armpit
Sure just cause Fresno is home to freerepublic.org (who is getting some cash just for being hateful http://www.fresnobee.com/local/politics/story/7999631p-8867429c.html)

You know, Bakersfield is pretty conservative too--lets spread the blame!

22. How to manipulate election.
How do they manipulate election? They rigged election by cheating vote. And made the result believable by fake poll.

They at first stole the chair of Governor by recall. Thus they control the election office. So even there is something like what happened in Florida in 2000, they don't worry.

Now it's the second step. To propaganda about Bush's rising rate. With constant such propaganda, 10 months later, Bush's victory becomes reasonable. Though all is a manipulated one.

28. It also will make
it more realistic when the "voting" machines flip your votes to the rethugs. This poll sounds like bullshit propganda to me.

2. HL Mencken
No one ever went broke overestimating the stupidity of the American public.

(It is attributed to him anyway.)

People really do fall for the BS and * is making a real effort to polish his appearance for the election.... it could work.

4. That has to be the least referenced poll that I have seen in a long time.
The Bush game plan is to make him appear invincible and unbeatable.
I wouldn't give this poll any credence at all because there is no way to research the findings. More trash talk from the spinners.

11. Yes, and they hope it's a self-fulfilling prophecy just like Gropenfuhrer
"Wow, it looks like a lot of people are voting for Pres. Bush. I don't want to feel left out or uncool, so I guess I'll vote for him too."

:puke:

I don't buy it either. Not a word of it. It's an attempt to steer public opinion, not reflect it.

8. So the repugs hope.
Meathead's rise to power was long planned and not strictly a Californian effort. One small element: the repugs would only approve a budget plan that included an increased car tax --- knowing that this was particularly hated by the voters and that the anger would be directed at Davis.

KTVU is Fox for enterainment and sports. The KTVU news is independent of Fox and is the best in the SF Bay Area. Just FYI. Don't anyone confuse KTVU with Faux News.

16. Stop the denial
Denial is not a political strategy. Bush now has a +10 rating in California. I still think he will lose it in 2004 but it means we should not take it for granted. California is very much a pro-choice state - we need to emphasize the Right's erosion of reproductive freedom. And we have to be strong on defense- people like Mike Honda give the impression that we'd rather quibble over Patriot Act than take measures to fight terrorism.

17. I agree that we'll win the state in 2004
but it's not something that's a no-brainer at this point. Bush's Saddam bounce is still evident, it appears, as reflected in national polls as well. It'll be interesting to see if he stays above 50 percent a few months down the road.

21. But They Have Bogus Voting Machines To Match
the bogus data.

As long as they steal enough votes so it does not appear close,
nobody can touch the paper ballots, ever, so with Arnie in place
to give Bushco access to our election computers, it may not matter
how we vote.

They need polls like this to make the eventual theft of our votes
appear plausible.

Granted, my opinion is as credible as this poll (i.e. uncorroborated), but still. There is NOT a lot of Bush-love here.

24. The point, for the math challenged, is this:
The entire range of values given is 6% (46-52), which is exactly
one more than the nominal "margin or error". The poll is
complete doo-doo, mathematically speaking, it means nothing
at all, not even bringing up the sample size directly, or issues
about the sample quality.

Than again, these are for "expressing approval of Bush's performance
as president", meaning any positive comment at all was made, and
not re-elect numbers, which I am sure would be much harder to spin.

26. No way! Not after Bush out did Gray Davis on immigration
Californians despise "illegal aliens" even though 'illegals'
do virtually all of the work that citizens reject.

Arnold implicitly blamed California's financial problems on
illegal aliens with his selection of former Gov. Pete Wilson
as his campaign manager.

Gray Davis took a lot of heat for his proposal to issue
undocumented workers drivers licenses.

I can imagine Bush's approval increases in light of his
recent immigration proposal.

Bush can kiss California good-bye in 2004!

Million californians change their minds about bush? More likely a million who voted for him in 2000 will vote against him in 2004.
If DUer's fall for this bull, we are doomed, All of America (less informed) will believe it. Rove is going to make sure Idiot Boy gets the popular vote this time. I can just hear it now, "Minorities voted for * this time, Gropinator pulled in votes for *, blah, blah, blah."

We need a smilie for BULLSHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
