Cheney's grim vision: decades of war
Vice president says Bush policy aimed at long-term world threat

Los Angeles -- In a forceful preview of the Bush administration's expansionist military policies in this election year, Vice President Dick Cheney Wednesday painted a grim picture of what he said was the growing threat of a catastrophic terrorist attack in the United States and warned that the battle, like the Cold War, could last generations.

The vice president's tone, in a major address to the Los Angeles World Affairs Council, was sobering, unlike many other comments recently by senior administration officials that have stressed successes in the war on terrorism.

Cheney mentioned only in passing the administration's domestic policies, while saying President Bush would present a blueprint of his domestic goals in next Tuesday's State of the Union speech.

Cheney devoted the half-hour speech to a frightening characterization of the war on terrorism and the new kind of mobilization he said it demanded. He sounded the alarm about the increasing prospects of a major new terrorist attack and the extraordinary responses that are required. While many of his remarks echoed past comments by the president and senior officials, Cheney struck a surprisingly dour note and suggested only an administration of proven ability could manage the dramatic overhaul necessary for the nation's security apparatus.

posted in GD as well ...this is what Paul O'Neill showed us in his book --- Iraq was a choice --- Cheney's view is by choice.

the lid gets blown off the Pentagon bombing. The evidence is all out there and he knows it. He knows it is only a matter of time till people will want to take a step back and take a look at the bullshit-feed about the Pentagon attack. He knows he has to cover his ass soon in a big way. Look for a nuke in your neighborhood. It is as scary as he paints it....BECAUSE he controls the shit he is talking about. Do you really think he is digging that big hole under his mansion for shits n' grins??!!! He knows the plan.

Be VERY VERY VERY fucking afraid.
Then relax and try not to, because short of someone taking drastic measures, it is out of our hands.

58. FREON NEOCONS "CREATE" CRISES FOR EXPLOITATION,...
,...SO THAT THEY CAN PROFIT!!! Cheney's freakin' energy group has decided to do a 180 on nonproliferation policy and build dangerous, inefficient, uneconomical fast breeder reactors (which create that glowing, green shit used in nuclear weapons) AND help other countries having NO nuclear arm capacity to do so as well!!! This administration is CREATING a nuclear arms nightmare!!!!

So, while the administration goes yadayadayada about the dangers of WMDs, it has restarted a brand, spanking new nuclear arms development program (which these particular reactors "feed") AND this administration is DIRECTLY PROMOTING nuclear weapons technology to other nonnuke countries!!!!

See: http://www.nrdc.org/nuclear/bush/freprocessing.asp

I am now completely convinced that the major players in this administration are perfectly capable and willing to create/invent calculated crises which they utilize as a vehicle of manipulation in order to recognize a profit or influence. They have NO CONSCIENCE when it comes to feeding their insatiable appetite for money and power. They are capable of extraordinary wickedness and are terribly, terribly dangerous people.

The fundamentalists really, REALLY outta be prayin' to God and Jesus that these very wicked men be judged, IMMEDIATELY!!! I mean, seriously, LORD HELP US!!!!

He has no positive vision for the future. Everything is doom and gloom while he stuffs his pockets even fuller with our money, giggling like a madman in his little secure bunker.

Would someone please, get this wacko a shot of Thorazine and a straight jacket cause he's a danger to humanity?

6. O'Neill pointed out in his book that they were making more doom and gloom
out of the economy then was necessary. The doom and gloom was to justify their tax cuts. He kept trying to tell them the economy was not as bad as they were painting it out to be and tax cuts were not necessary.

More of the same, doom and gloom to justify another pre-emptive invasion.

That SOB. If they can't get the vote the democratic way, they will scare us. If they can't scare people in voting for them, they will steal it.

My husband is convinced they will steal the election again. He thinks it is like a child who cheats in school. If they are not caught and have some sort of punishment, they will do it again and keep doing it until somebody calls them on it.

These people have to be stopped in the next election. There is no limit to what they plan to do. All this loose talk about WWIII being the cold war and WWIV being 'the war on terror' will be meaningless if they plunge us into a real WWIII - the real kind that we used to have nightmares about.

44. That's the point I'm trying to make here:
Help me out:

Dick Cheney - Shadow President

It's time for Cheney's comeuppance. He's a second rate intellect masquerading as an evil genius. Lacking imagination, he signed on early to the PNAC agenda, maneuvered himself into a position to implement it, and will not entertain other POVs.

He is unbelievably frightening. THIS is the guy who must be stopped. O'Neill calls him a "puppeteer." Why isn't this common knowledge?

I think we should follow the Nixon paradigm and Destroy Cheney First.

29. there can be no war on "terrorism"
it is another Bush/Cheney fascist, mystical approach to pull the wool over the eyes of the vulnerable and quite stupid sheep. It is not logical, nor can it be pursued to any logical conclusion--obviously, terrorism will never be blotted out--stupid people cannot see further than the end of Cheney's nose--it's like a "war on disease"--there will always be disease too--as a matter of fact, using the moniker "war" just increases the anxiety, which is just fine with Cheney and Bush--they love wars on anything--what is needed from Cheney, Bush and the others who would have us sacrifice our precious children to the quest for the rich to make more money off their young minds and bodies, is specifics.

That there are never any specifics offered when speaking about this "war on terrorism", is a great big clue. You know, like, we do this, then we do that, then we demand a surrender from the enemy and sign the victory papers.

Stupid people will get all gung ho over this "war on terrorism" as if we have nothing else to do with our children but sacrifice them for an abstract, confusing mantra that means little or nothing. Oh yeah---sometimes it is backed up with the inevitable emotional appeal--"they hate our freedoms"--without offering us a clue as to who the "they" is that we are fighting this war against, naturally.

33. The antithesis of
Democratic Liberal = Aristocratic Servile

I just came across this quote from Thomas Jefferson
"Men by their constitutions are naturally divided into two parties: 1. Those who fear and distrust the people, and wish to draw all powers from them into the hands of the higher classes. 2. Those who identify themselves with the people, have confidence in them, cherish and consider them as the most honest and safe, although not the most wise depositary of the public interests. In every country these two parties exist, and in every one where they are free to think, speak, and write, they will declare themselves. Call them, therefore, Liberals and Serviles, Jacobins and Ultras, Whigs and Tories, Republicans and Federalists, Aristocrats and Democrats, or by whatever name you please, they are the same parties still and pursue the same object. The last one of Aristocrats and Democrats is the true one expressing the essence of all." --Thomas Jefferson to Henry Lee, 1824. ME 16:73

Bingo - this country is now run by a bunch of aristocrats who have conned a bunch of serviles into thinking they are honest.
Now, if only they can be convinced that this is so.

That part scares me the most. Dickhead is predicting another 9/11 style attack on the US. Why is he making such a dire prediction? Wasn't the capture of Saddam suppose to make us safer?

Once again, our great Repuke leaders are going to fail to defend us against another major attack on US soil. On purpose no doubt, considering that the first 9/11 attack has been very good for his company's profits (Halliburton).

9/11 attacks are great for business, aren't they Dickhead?

It's not as if terrorism levels are rising or have risen in any measurable way apart from 9/11, which really is the fault of a) bad airline security and b) an administration that ignored warnings from the Clinton bipartisan blue ribbon panel for nine months.

There just isn't enough terrorism to justify this hideous Orwellian farce.

Are Americans going to resist being turned into frightened sheep, or are they going to insist on remaining citizens in charge of our common destiny? The 2004 election will tell...

This way they can demonize Democrats as being "unpatriotic" if we dare to disagree with them on anything, and they can also bring out the old "don't change horses in midstream" line during the election season. It's frightening when you think about what they've done to this country in the last three years. I knew that Bush would pursue all kinds of insane right-wing policies to placate his base if he got in, but I never imagined that he would plunge us into recession, massive deficits, and war without end. If we don't beat this guy in November, say goodbye to the America you once knew and loved. It ain't EVER coming back.

52. Where are we going to get the manpower for Cheney's machinations?
Our military is already stretched to the brink. We've got our nation's Color Guard out in the battlefield for god's sake. America, despite its awesome power, was not made for battle, we were made for being lazy and making money. The weekend warrior Reserves who are toiling, dying and being treated like crap out in the desert are not happy.

If Cheney thinks he can get away with his wild plans of expanding out military out into bases across 50 nations, he's got another thing coming.

Bush 2004 = DRAFT. Get the message out.

"From horizon to horizon, nothing but fetid smoke. On the ground, nothing but the rotting carcasses of the fallen armies of the many forces of chaos intertwined in their dance of death.

Our hero crawls out from beneath the corruption, pulls out his blackberry, wipes off the maggots, and begins to enter a text message...

61. Hermann Goering - Hitler's 2nd Man said:
"...it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a
democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist
dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. **That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger.** It works the same in any country."

from Hermann Goering at the Nuremberg Trials (Commander of the Luftwaffe,President of the Reichstag, Prime Minister of Police Gestapo, Hitler's 2nd man in the Third Reich & Marshal of the German Empire)

-------------------------------------

Bush's 2nd man is now saying the same thing. And they just cannot figure out why Adolf Bush is compared to Hitler? duh...
