Thousands March in Iraq to Demand Early Elections
Tens of thousands of demonstrators shouting "No to America" marched through Basra on Thursday supporting a call by Iraq's most revered Shi'ite cleric for direct elections to form a sovereign Iraqi government.

The demonstration, which concluded peacefully after a speech at a local mosque, was a huge show of strength by the country's Shi'ite Muslim majority, and its top leader Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani, against the U.S. blueprint for the transition.

4. Peaceful political mobilization.
That's a good thing. I hope that they can maintain their discipline and prevent sabateurs.

5. I'm sure that Bush wants the regular people of Iraq to have
fair and legal elections, just like the US.

I can just imagine him trying to tell the Iraqi people "Wait a minute, that's not the guy we wanted you to vote for. Here's the real president of your country, my friend, . . ."
