1. Run Katherine Run!
Turn the Repub primary into a circular firing squad, force huge amounts of money to be spent campaigning, and leave a battered candidate for our Democratic nominee to annihilate.:dem:

As someone from Florida, this is bad. Very bad. Watch her win. The Goppers down here love her.

4. That's almost as good as hearing Falwell starting a 3rd party.
So who is going to be the next great Democratic Senator from the Great State of Florida now?

6. My guess is for Florida's next Democratic --
-- senator is Betty Castor. She'd hold her own in Broward-Dade and would likely carry the Tampa area, where she was president of USF for a long while.

The Republicans will have to fight for Florida this year. I think it will go Democratic, both the Senate race and the White House.

7. I agree with you on Betty Castor.
I'll probably support her though I am starting to look at Peter Deusch. :dem:

5. The Bush administration --
-- may have quietly agreed to give her an ambassador post if Bush wins re-selection, and that promise may be enough to persuade her to step aside this time. That's just a hunch, but it has a Rovian feel to it.

All the same, I hope she runs because a whole lot of Democrats will show up at the polls to vote against her.

Red Florida turns blue in 2004.

8. Prediction: She won't do it
This was all just a tease. She'll settle for some goody (Diebold lobbyist?) as a parachute in case she's defeated in Nov.

All just to get in the papers and increase name recognition by people (voters) who don't read the rest of the article.

And be careful what you wish for. Remember who won reelection after as gov after the 2000 campaign. It's probably not the slam dunk everyone slobbering over here. Although I'm slobbering ;-)

EDIT: Guys, ya just gotta love that flat stomach. WOW!!!
