Dems’ House and Senate committees post superior 2007 numbers

The Democratic House and Senate committees both outraised their Republican counterparts by millions of dollars in 2007 and continued to take in more money in December.

The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) rode to its finest month since March, however, thanks to millions in contributions from members of Congress.

Overall for the year, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) raised $67.5 million to the NRCC’s $49.5 million.

In the final month, the DCCC raised $6.6 million to the NRCC’s $6.1 million. The NRCC has more cash ($5.4 million) than debt ($2.8 million) for the first time this cycle, having inherited a $15 million tab from last cycle.
