Hollywood writers sign interim deals with 2 more studios

The striking Writers Guild of America said Thursday it has signed interim deals with The Film Department and Intermedia Film.

The two Los Angeles-based studios join a growing list of independent producers who have signed deals with the screenwriters union.

Patric Verrone, president of the West Coast branch of the WGA, said the companies recognize the importance of an agreement that fairly compensates writers.

As with previous deals, no details were released.
