Craigslist pot draws an undercover ‘buyer’
Source: MSNBC.COM

STAMFORD, Conn. - If you're looking to sell high-grade marijuana, Craigslist may not be the place to do it. A man learned that the hard way when the "buyer" who contacted him turned out to be an undercover officer, Stamford police said.

Police said Steven Zahorsky, 24, posted an ad for "Mary Jane in Fairfield County." The ad offered a half-ounce of "A plus" marijuana for $220 and the same amount of "B plus" marijuana for $160.

Stamford Lt. Jon Fontneau said officers spotted the ad and responded, claiming to be a painting crew interested in buying drugs during a work break.

Boy, I'm sure glad the cops went after that guy. I feel much safer now. :sarcasm:

1. These pot heads need to be incarcerated
When they are free to roam within society they inevitably raid my local 7-11 and buy up ALL the Chips Ahoy and chocolate covered coconut bars. Life without parole!

15. Heh
Maybe producers of convenience snacks need to bunch together and form a lobby group to lobby Congress for legalisation.

5. nor do I
I hate when it seems that giving out speeding tickets is the only job of some cops, but I wouldn't blame them for giving someone a speeding ticket if they'd first posted an ad about wanting to speed, coordinated when and where they would be speeding, and by what amount they would be exceeding the limit.

6. Yeah lock up all them Pot-heads!
But if you want to get ripped to the point of oblivion by drinking alcohol and taking prescription drugs in the privacy of your own home, well that's ok. It's legal and big corporations say it's ok, so it's ok. Has anyone ever OD'd on weed? NO!

8. I'm not a big "Say no to drugs guy"...
... I think most drugs should be legalized, or at least heavily regulated, but blanket claims that Weed isn't dangerous are so prevalent and unfounded as to ring a lot of alarm bells for me. I have enough experience with drugs to know that Weed psychosis while not necessarily a direct result of the drug but perhaps a side effect of the subject's psychology as affected by THC could cause serious problems for those who experience Paranoia and Psychosis that might cause or encourage violence or dangerous behavior. These are certainly not effects that all users experience. Some never get paranoid or psychotic, but others exhibit manic tendencies that very often dissociate reality and impairs judgment. I have known many to have very fearful experiences on Weed. So fearful as to lash out at friends and/or recoil into dangerous states of insularity that in certain situations could be fatally dangerous.

In comparison with most other drugs including Alcohol... not so big a deal... and shouldn't we as citizens be responsible for our own use? Sure.... I just think its a little naive to say that there aren't dangers at all.

13. ordinary homegrown isn't sexed up with toxics
if anyone develops 'weed psychosis' it's because the weed was spiked...Cary Grant and Bob Mitchum used pot for their entire professional lives, happily- it grew wild all over the country once.....the larger, more dangerous issue, fascism, has intentionally driven weed underground, where making it toxic naturally follows, for weight reasons ...bte, during dubia dubia two, millions of soldiers were shipped overseas and suffered seasickness, which ordinary marijuana cures (pot is still used for chemo patients etc) and the pig hid the fact from the greatest generation because of fears pot gain legitimacy (marijuana was criminalized at behest of alcohol, drug and the textile industry, shades of 'who killed the electric car')

11. People do stupid things.
I remember one time a couple of young kids came into a bar, sat down and lit up a joint! Just like it was a normal thing to do! While they sat smoking the bartender called the police.

12. I remember when doing something like that WAS no big deal
snorting cocaine on table tops too.

My wake up happened at a concert. Product of the 70's - used to attend lots of concerts back in the day, then adulthood, kids and a move to the boonies. Next thing I know it's been 10, 15 years since a show. Can't remember who it was but the first thing to do when lights out and show started was light up and pass it on, right? right? WTF? Guy next to us was so shocked and grateful - one on the other side didn't want any but didn't know to just pass it on...what happened? Of course we entered the era of right wing greed and fear and this wonderful cultural sharing of good times and good weed faded away. It was a sad awakening. You kids sure missed out.

14. If he's this stupid of a pot seller then maybe he does need to get arrested.

egad. Advertising on Craigslist!

That said this reminds me of a funny story my coworker told me of when he was 19 and very high, he called his mom to ask her to bring home chips but he accidentally dialed 911 instead and was talking to the lady calling her mom and telling her how very hungry he was and they came and arrested him. He didn't have his shoes on so he told the cops he needed to get them and the cops said, "which shoes", and he said, "my running shoes", snarkily, so they took him to jail bare foot.
