Deadly Twisters Mar Super Tuesday Voting
4 deaths confirmed; others trapped, hurt or missing in Ark., Tenn.

TOLEDO, Ohio - Storms drew a line down the middle of the nation Tuesday, spawning tornadoes to the south, dumping snow to the north, and dropping heavy rain on parts of Ohio and Indiana still recovering from major floods months ago. Twisters and severe storms killed at least four people, caused numerous injuries and trapped students inside a collapsed university dorm.

The storm stretched across much of the nation’s midsection from Texas to the Great Lakes on a day when voters in many states headed to polls for Super Tuesday primaries.

In central Arkansas, several tornadoes were reported, including one that touched down in the town of Atkins, northwest of Little Rock. Three deaths were confirmed and a church was destroyed. Officials were trying to assess other damage. In Baxter County, numerous injuries were reported and five people were missing, officials said.

In Tennessee, a twister claimed a life in Fayette County. A dorm collapsed at Union University in Jackson when a tornado tore through the campus. Some 30 students were reportedly trapped, while 16 were injured. A pile up of 20 tractor-trailers caused a nearby highway to be cut off. A possible tornado near Memphis damaged a mall and several other buildings, causing a few injuries.

4. Atkins is my hometown.
The tornado destroyed a Free Will Baptist Church about 1000 feet behind my dad's house.

Thankfully only three people lost their lives. I found out today that the three were a guy I went to school with, his wife, and daughter.
