Browns' Brady Quinn allegedly involved in anti-gay confrontation in Columbus
Source: Plain Dealer

Wednesday, February 13, 2008
Aaron Marshall
Plain Dealer Bureau

Columbus -- Cleveland Browns quarterback Brady Quinn was part of a group of men shouting insults at gay passers-by outside a Columbus bar early on New Year's Day, according to a 9-1-1 call made to police.

The call at 2:35 a.m. came from Seth Harris, who reported that he encountered the group in front of La Fogata Grill at 790 North High St. The Mexican restaurant is next door to the Union Café Bar + Food, one of Columbus' most popular gay bars in the gay-friendly Short North neighborhood.

On the 9-1-1 call, Harris said that "Brady Quinn from the Browns" was "trying to cause a fight." Harris told the operator, "I just walked outside and he exchanged many profanities with me and called me a faggot, of course."

Reached Monday by The Plain Dealer, Harris confirmed that Quinn was the person who used the slur...

21. I few years back I had the pleasure of being w/ the Ohio State Baseball ....
... coach and some friends after they had won the Big Ten at a small
bar .... some of the players invited the coach and some of the assistant
coaches to a party for the team by campus. The coach thanked the team
captians who invited him but said that he would put a crimp in their party
so he declined .... but as the players were leaving he called them back
and said, "Two things 1) I don't want to read about any party in the paper
or see about it on t.v. 2) No cops better have to visit your party .... do you
understand? No COPS! ..... and I know people on the Columbus Police force.
He then told the team captains to have a good time and tell the guys that
pratice for the next day was off.

Quinn should expect some big hits if he gets any playing time next year.

7. Google "Brady Quinn" Images
and tell me whether or not you think he is "compensating." I am not sure I am using the correct Freudian terminology in this case. But, I don't think it is an accident the B.Q. is putting his ant-gayness on public display.

Could be he has an attraction to man ass, and the denial is causing him to get drunk and overcompensate.
What will Quinn do when his gay lover posts the pictures on the Internet.

i just want to say as someone gay living in los angeles, traveling to see five browns games last year, patronizing the largest browns backers bar in l.a. (that just so happens to be in a GAY bar with gay and straight people watching) and being a lifelong fan....how classless of you quinn.. and if this all ends up being true i hope the league takes action against him.nice to know i spend my hard earned money supporting your hate.

who calls up 911 and says The Cleveland browns backup QB is calling me names - I am still trying to find out why this is even a story or being printed by the paper. Since this happened on 1/1 and now it is mid-Feb, could it be that the other guy involved kept calling all the TV stations and newspapers in Oh in hopes of getting this non-story published.

sixthbsb- you hope the league takes action against him for a single word he said while on his own time (without even knowing both sides to the story, because you know there's going to be two sides)? What action do you suggest they take? Make him sit in the corner for 30 minutes? Fine him $8,500,000? Suspend him for 4 seasons? Get a grip, man.

Here's an idea: focus your rage on the people who really are demonstrating true hatred towards homosexuals, instead of the people who say some stupid word and leave it at that...

26.  10/9/06-Brady Quinn Forwards E-Mails From Mark Foley to FBI(?)

http://alsoreceivingvotes.blogspot.com/2006/10/brady-quinn-forwards-e-mails-from-mark.html

Notre Dame quarterback Brady Quinn turned over messages he received from former Rep. Mark Foley to FBI officials Sunday. According to Quinn, the disgraced Republican from Florida has been contacting him via e-mail since 2004.

“At first it was just the typical fan mail,” said Quinn. “Things like ‘Good luck Saturday. I’ll be watching!’ Nothing too unusual. Even when he asked for one of my game-used jerseys, I figured he was just a memorabilia collector or a big Notre Dame fan.”...

“House leadership was aware that Mr. Foley watched a number of Notre Dame games in recent seasons,” said Brad Hahn, a spokesman for Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert. “While Mr. Foley was warned about his infatuation with the Fighting Irish quarterback, no further disciplinary measures were deemed necessary. We are just now learning about the e-mails that were sent to Mr. Quinn.”

FBI officials said they will investigate the matter fully. According to a bureau source, however, since Quinn is 21-years old the matter is consider “creepy, but not a crime.”

Brady Quinn Likes Them Republican?

http://jgwebblogs.typepad.com/notre_dame/2008/02/the-overnight-b.html

To get you into tomorrow, we found two videos of former Notre Dame quarterback Brady Quinn.
First up, his PSA from the Super Bowl, where he encourages youngsters to get out and vote:

And since Brady's getting the vote out, we found an interview with him and someone named Fat Jewish Guy (otherwise known as comic David Feingold, who is also part of the blog Barely Political, which we think is how he got to interview Quinn). And what did FJG find out? Well, that Brady likes his women Republican -- and that FJG mistakenly drafted Quinn in the second round of his fantasy draft this year. Oops:

Republican = Moron!

35. Browns' Quinn denies altercation
http://blog.cleveland.com/sports/2008/02/browns_quinn_denies_altercatio.html

...In a statement released Wednesday through the Browns, Quinn said he had dinner on New Year's Eve with his girlfriend and other couples but that nothing else happened.

"At no time that night was I involved in a verbal or physical altercation, nor did I have any interaction with the police," Quinn said in the statement. "I want to be clear that I did not engage in any of the alleged conduct, nor did I make inappropriate comments to anyone.

"Any allegations to the contrary are either untrue or the result of misidentification."

However, Columbus police said when they arrived Quinn was arguing with 32-year-old Jason Thompson...
