McCain Criticizes Putin For Leading "Puppet Show"
Source: Reuters

OSHKOSH, Wisconsin (Reuters) - U.S. Republican presidential candidate John McCain accused President Vladimir Putin of preparing to lead a puppet government in Russia in a blistering critique on Friday.

The Arizona senator, long critical of Putin, had harsh words for the Russian leader as he prepares to give up the presidency to a hand-picked successor and then take on a powerful role as prime minister.

"I think that Mr. Putin is trying to restore the old Russian empire. Obviously he is perpetuating himself in power in Russia virtually indefinitely by this setup of having basically a protege, someone who is doing his bidding as president while he serves as the prime minister," McCain said.

"We knew the puppet show was going on, we just didn't know who the puppet was."

--
McCain, who often says that when he looked into Putin's eyes he saw a K, G and B, added he was concerned about Russia but not worried about a resurgent Russian empire.

"I'm not concerned that we will see a reignition of the old Cold War. Russia doesn't have the assets or the capability or anything else to pose the kind of challenge" that it did during the days of the Soviet Union, he said.

4. McCain's foreign policy: Crazier than Bush
You know, I understand that campaigning is all about red meat, but this is just wreckless. If he DOES in fact want to be President, he might want to pull that back. Ditto for the bomb-bomb-Iran nonsense. He understands that he has to jump through the conservative hoops, but he comes off sounding like a deranged idiot.

Putin actually mentioned Hillary in his address this week, noting that she made a remark about Putin's 'soulless' work at the KGB, and said a would-be head of state "should have a head."

5. McPain is an idiot if he thinks that Russia is going let Bush set up missles next to Russia.
It is the beginning of a new cold war and remember...Russia can nuke the hell out of the US and the world. Just because they don't have as many nukes doesn't mean they can't destroy the planet. They just can't do 70 times over like as before. Once is enough.

6. Taunting and criticizing President Vladimir Putin is just plain STUPID.
.
.
.

Wasn't it Putin's space program that kept the space station going when the USA grounded their fleet after the Columbia FUBAR?

I think that Putin, and his Russia have a lot more for the USA to think about -

USA went just about ballistic over the missile silos in Cuba half a century ago, and are still "punishing" Cuba.

Yet the USA figures it's OK to put missiles in Russia's and China's back yard.

Gimmee a break.

And with the disgraceful performance of the "sub-prime" debacle

Imagine if the World placed an embargo on the USA

USA would be a "third world country" in less than a year.

GAWD I hope they get some brains in the USA Government.

I wouldn't bet a nickle on it.

But I'll still hope.

7. Mc Cain stole the KGB comment from Powell
McCain started using that phrase after Colin Powell did.

But, I don't expect the media to discuss that.

Russia’s status as a current and future energy producer is close to unrivaled. It holds the eighth-largest proven oil reserves in the world, but ranks a close second in oil production to Saudi Arabia (at 9.3 million barrels a day), far ahead of most other world suppliers and well ahead of the United States (at 5.1 million b/d) and Mexico (3.4 million b/d). In fact, when both oil and natural gas exports are considered, Russia exports more hydrocarbons than Saudi Arabia.<<<

"I'm not concerned that we will see a reignition of the old Cold War. Russia doesn't have the assets or the capability or anything else to pose the kind of challenge" that it did during the days of the Soviet Union, he said.

....you're an asshole....

9. Oh good, here's another great diplomat to follow in the chimp's shoes.
I love it when our leaders throw out insults to other leaders around the world. Makes me feel like they are nothing more than little brat kids, shooting off their mouths to piss each other off.

Have ANY OF THEM gone to any sort of "diplomacy seminar" anywhere or anytime?

And they criticize Obama for saying he'll meet with all these leaders. I'm guessing he's not going to be brain dead stupid enough to insult them first, eh?
