New Zealand hosts meeting on cluster bombs
Source: TVNZ

A major international conference is being held in Wellington on Monday aimed at getting an agreement to force countries to stop using cluster munitions.

Disarmament and Arms Control Minister Phil Goff says the week-long discussions will focus on developing a treaty banning the use of the weapons, which are deployed from aircraft and cause widespread damage on the ground.

"Too many people are being killed by cluster munitions fired during a war but then acting as landmines lying dormant on the soil until detonated by some unsuspecting civilian, often children," says Goff.

(snip)
Goff says it is the biggest disarmament conference ever held in New Zealand, however, cluster munitions users and manufacturers such as the USA, Israel, Russia, China, India, and Pakistan are conspicuously absent.

2. Alas, Hillary Does Not Oppose Cluster Bombs...
In September 2006 she voted with the Republicans:
"Democratic Senators Pat Leahy (VT) and Diane Feinstein (CA) tried to push through an amendment that would have banned the use of cluster bombs in densely populated areas and prohibited the U.S. from selling cluster bombs to countries unwilling to abide by the restrictions. Hillary Clinton voted against the amendment." http://www.huffingtonpost.com/jonathan-tasini/hillary-cluster-bombs-ar_b_28990.html

6. It shouldn't be too hard to figure out
Hillary keeps voting to keep the war going, Hillary gets more money from the arms industry, Hillary again votes in favor of more funding to keep it going, and more defense money goes into her pockets, rinse and repeat.
