Clinton pals chair Dem credentials panel
Source: United Press International

WASHINGTON, Feb. 19 (UPI) -- Hillary Clinton has close ties to the leaders of an obscure Democratic Party committee that could decide the fate of her presidential campaign.

The three chairs of the Credentials Committee, which decides which delegates to seat at the national convention, have long-running ties to the Clinton camp and could be instrumental in admitting the delegates from Florida and Michigan, the Washington Times said Tuesday.

All three chairs worked for President Clinton's administration, the Times said, while the rest of the 186-member committee appears split between Clinton and Barack Obama supporters.

With Clinton and Obama running a close race, analysts see Florida and Michigan as potential keys to the nomination. So far, the two states have been effectively banned from the delegate count because their primaries were held earlier than the originally scheduled date.

1. Ok, here it comes.
Bet they meet a few times in front of the convention.

Bet these chairs somehow run over the Obama supporters and seat the MI and FL delegations.

About now would be the time for the gang of 5 to assert themselves before this gets out of hand.

Anyone else up for a trip to Denver? Chicago all over again.

2. Corruption runs deep
But even as corrupted as I believe the Clintons have become in their desperate pursuit of getting Hillary elected President, I never would have thought they would stoop to that level.

3. By hook or by crook...
Hillary Clinton is determined to become the first Madame President. By hook or by crook. And looking back on the past year of excuses by Madam Speaker, that appears to have included taking impeachment off the table.

The Clintons have pretty much divided the party. They may end up destroying it. And won't mind a bit if she still manages to get into the White House. What's odd is that McCain is accomplishing the same thing within the Republican Party. And he may end up destroying it as well.

Which I guess will leave us with what we already have which few want to accept - the Republicrat Party.

6. Don't Forget - During Bill's eight years the democrats lost Congres
due to his DNC triangulation - steal the Republican programs and make them his own! Oh yeah, I loved the Clinton era! And what did we get for the loss of democratic political power? - republican majorities in the White House, Congress and the Supreme Court - the Great Clinton Trifecta! He gave us Bush (the worst President in history) selected president when Clinton's VP gave up the fight in Florida, and we got Iraq, , military spending and corruption out of control, a war-profiteering class of contractors led by Cheney, post-Katrina horrors, spying on Americans, torture, degradation of the Constitution and the extreme right wing Supreme Court. Anyone rememebr the Calif recession from 1991 to 1995 or so while Billy was diddling with Monica? What a legacy Clinton left!

So how would another Clinton administration enhance the democratic party? About the same as before - not at all and even further destroy it. These people are as shamless in their pursuit of power as any republican ever has been. Watch these next two weeks as they role out all their evil on Obama and most won't know where it is coming from as the Clintons use their hordes of surrogate synchophants, and other unknown entities to bring down the first real chance to elect someone not of the inner corporate circle. Obama is not perfect and has lots of suspicious corporate and political support and I hold no extra hope that he will be some sort of savior - he won't! I just hope that he can hold off the evils of the republicans and begin to make the changes needed to more this country in a more humane, pro-people, pro-environment, anti-war direction, that gets the thieves out of the federal government and my wallet. It will not be easy as there are long-building structural problems that Bush and his cronies have only make so much more difficult to fix. Clinton and McCain will be largely more of the same. I hope Obama will be somewhat less of the same. I wanted Edwards or actually someone with the balls of Kucinich to speak to the truths that must be addressed. Oh well, I'm a Dreamer, but I'm not the only one!

12. Here's to "Obama will be somewhat less of the same"!
That is, without a doubt, the best we can possibly hope for...and I'm not even holding out for that.

Then again, it's probably time for a little reality check--the global corporate overlords will decide who is selected president.

Credentials is an "obscure" committee?? No one gets on the floor of the convention without going through the credentials committee. Idiot author.

5. Yep! That's right! Credential Committee is obscure.
And those 3 chairs will decide everything that the 186 member committee will do. And the committee are overwhelmingly Clinton supporters.
:sarcasm:

Only idiots and novices don't know about Credential Committees.

8. No, the chairs do NOT decide everything the committee will do

read up on the duties of the credentials committee, the most underappreciated committee in the Democratic Party. The committee has specific duties as outlined in the party rules.

14. There are about 150 still to be named
Each state gets at least one...and it's based on the percentages in the primaries/caucuses.
