15. 10, but who's counting?
10 "insignificant" states make up about 2-3 "significant" states. I've been on the fence for a couple of weeks, but tonight I see that Obama has grassroots, populist support all over the country. I want him to win so John McCain can be defeated.

I've been sticking up for Clinton AND Obama against some of the vilest attacks here - no Democrat should be subjected to that, but Obama has demonstrated that he can unite the REAL people in this country, poor and middle classes, and we can do great things for America under his Presidency and a Democratic majority in both houses of Congress.

Obama and a filibuster-proof Democratic majority in the Senate. And let Lieberman finally admit the truth - he's a Republican.

Now it's on to Texas and Ohio and then the convention (hope that's not a jinx, I remember the last time I heard a statement like that......)

(02-19) 18:24 PST WASHINGTON, (AP) --

23. Humor explained is humor negated.
What? Was he drunk? - a snark up thread reflecting the idiocy of 'he barged into hillary's speech'.
And he bushed on her shoes - my continuation of this bit of humor.

Now there is nothing funny at all about this subthread. All of the funny has been sucked out of it. This thread is now where humor came to die.

13. How Can They Declare the Winner Without Votes Reported?
Here in WI the polls closed at 8 PM CST and MSNBC already declared Obama the winner by 8:30 PM CST. At that time, The Milwaukee Sentinel was not reporting any votes counted.

O, maybe that's it - votes don't count.

19. No, newspapers are notoriously slow in reporting election returns
Last year when I was re-elected we knew all the vote tallies about 20 minutes after the polls closed. The newspaper didn't even have 60% of the vote totals the next morning.

25. Newspapers may be slow, but...
Newspapers may be slow, but I don't know how the winner can be declared with no percentage of the vote counted, or 3%, as it was tonight. Exit polling doesn't work - just ask Bush. No, this is suspicious.

27. Only 3% were shown to be counted. As I said, most precincts have all their votes tallied....
within 20 minutes of the polls closing.

When you saw only 3% being counted, chances are more than half had already been counted and given to the electronic media.

Good try though!

35.  Obama wins Wis. for 9th straight triumph
Source: Yahoo News

WASHINGTON - Barack Obama cruised past a fading Hillary Rodham Clinton in the Wisconsin primary Tuesday night, gaining the upper hand in a Democratic presidential race for the ages. It was Obama's ninth straight victory over the past three weeks, and left the former first lady in desperate need of a comeback in a race she long commanded as front-runner.

"The change we seek is still months and miles away," Obama told a boisterous crowd in Houston.

He cut deeply into Clinton's political bedrock in Wisconsin, splitting the support of white women in Wisconsin almost evenly with the former first lady and running well among working class voters in the blue collar battleground, according to polling place interviews.

With the votes counted in nearly one-quarter of the state's precincts, Obama was winning 56 percent of the vote, to 43 percent for Clinton.

42. Maginot Line
Hillary was afraid the right would attack her if she voted against the IWR. At the time, there was nobody to the left of her to challenge her for the nomination. Her voted for the war was entirely strategic.

Now that the votes are piling up against her, she can't turn her defenses around. The Maginot Line did the French no good in 1939, and Hillary's cowardly vote for war can't be undone. If she'd voted her conscience, she might have the nomination already locked up. The irony is rich.

47. Obama can't win - I'm a reluctant Hillary supporter now - here's why
Obama is a wonderful speaker - he says all the right things, fills me with hope for the future. And that's exactly why we're going to lose if he is the nominee.

The Republicans don't do hope, joy, or togetherness. They do one thing - win elections. If you think they feminized and destroyed Kerry, wait till you see what they do to Obama. They'll be ruthless, they'll be nasty, they'll be mean, and they will win.

Hillary is already hated by them, and they've blown their wad on her already. She can and will fight to win. And in the end, she'll beat McCain, and she'll give them black eyes in the process.

Yes, I love Obama, but Hillary must be the nominee.

I can't seriously believe that the Repubs are so organized that they are voting for Obama in droves to skew the primaries.

2-1 in our favor. Record numbers of voters turning out.

51. The Republicans success
in attacking Kerry was as much about his inability to handle it as their ability to dish it out. also, think about John Kerry during the primaries. He never even got close to generating the type of movement Obama has started. Also, the people were not as upset with the repugs 4 years ago compared to now.

Comparing Kerry and Obama makes no sense.
