Do you support Gephardt, Lieberman, or Sharpton?
Edited on Sun Jan-18-04 10:48 AM by Skinner
Write an endorsement for your candidate to be published on our homepage!

I posted a thread asking for endorsements for all of the candidates, which will be posted on our homepage on Monday:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=122356&mesg_id=122356

Based on the response so far, I'm fairly confident that we are going to have some articles in favor of Dean, Clark, Edwards, Kerry and Kucinich. (I haven't received them all yet, but it looks like we'll be okay.)

However, based on the response, I'm not sure if we're going to get any articles in support of Gephardt, Lieberman, or Sharpton. If you support one of these candidates, I hope you'll take some time to write up an endorsement and send it to me before 4:00PM today. It only takes one person to write a half-decent endorsement. Here's your chance to tell the world why your candidate is the best.

My email address is skinner@democraticunderground.com

Thanks.

2. Please give this thread an occasional kick.
I don't want to pin it to the top of the page because I think some people ignore pinned threads.

3. Kerry....can beat bush* on his biggest issue: Iraq
Edited on Sun Jan-18-04 11:14 AM by amen1234
Everyone seems to agree that we MUST beat bush*. Sadly though, many young people seem to think that Dean can beat bush*. Everyone agrees that bush* will run on his 'glorious?' Iraq war record. That is the ONE area that Dean cannot mount any defense. While Kerry was saving lives and hit by bullets in Vietnam, Dean took a medical deferment for a 'bad back'. By his own admission, Dean spent the Vietnam war skiing in Aspen (with a bad back?) and pouring concrete (with a bad back?). That hypocrisy will cost Dean during a fight with bush*. That is the reality that Dean supporters fail to grasp. We must fight bush* with the Iraqmire issue, and KERRY is the only person who can do that.

Kerry will lead us OUT of the Iraqmire. As a young man, he thought he was fighting for America and valiantly served in Vietnam, receiving a number of medals for bravery and being wounded in action. When Kerry got back to the USA, he realized that the Vietnam war did not to defend America. As a young man, Kerry bravely testified before Congress about the unjust Vietnam war. He helped create "Veterans-Veterans-against-War" (VVAW), and has many times marched against wars. The War will be bush* main issue, on which bush* plans to take the White House. Open your eyes, young people. There is ONLY ONE candidate that can defeat bush* on the war, and that is KERRY !

from Vietnam war days

Kerry will build the coalitions in the United Nations necessary for OUR world today. He has the international experience to make that happen. It was Kerry that created a Congressional coalition to force the Pentagon to go get OUR Veterans bodies and bring them home from Vietnam. Kerry served for many years on the Foreign Affairs Committee.

Kerry has been a top leader for many years on environmental issues, including saving Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and other pristine wilderness areas, corn-fuels to replace oil, biomass fermentation, wind-power, solar-power. Kerry worked closely with Daschle to pass the 'corn bill', requiring more biofermentation of corn, creating ethanol for our cars, and jobs for the farmers. Kerry's wife funded and runs one of the most influencial environmental foundations: the H. John Heinz III Center for Science, Economics and the Environment. John Kerry will create a new Manhattan Project to make America independent of Middle East oil in 10 years by creating alternative fuels like ethanol and making cars more efficient. Kerry will create half a million new jobs here at home at the same time – and we’ll never have to send our sons and daughters to war for Mideast oil.

read here what John Kerry will do, in his first 100 days as President
http://www.johnkerry.com/issues/100days/

Kerry can heal the open festering wounds from Vietnam, and lead us to a world that does not use WAR to solve our disagreements.

VVAW protest against Vietnam war

Kerry has fought for Veterans' rights to taxpayer funded medical care. Kerry's efforts for Veterans cover all the years since he fought in Vietnam. That is why OUR Veterans are standing with Kerry throughout Iowa. reTHUGlican or Democrat, Veterans love Kerry. And those Veteran votes for Kerry will make all the difference, that Dean can't match.
