WASHINGTON -- Democratic candidates Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama began Tuesday night’s debate in Ohio taking shots about each other’s tactics and differences on health care.
Clinton started Tuesday night's debate by calling flyers and mailings distributed by Obama's campaign "very disturbing."
Obama quipped back by saying Clinton's team has done some of the same things throughout her run for president.
The candidates switched gears and debated each others health care plans.
"Senator Obama has consistently said I would force people to have health care whether they can afford it or not," said Clinton, insisting it was not true.
Responding quickly, Obama countered that the former first lady had consistently claimed his plan "would leave 15 million people out ... I dispute that. I think it is inaccurate," he said.
The tone was pointed yet polite in the early moments of the 90-minute encounter.
