Sen. McCain says Bush should get more credit
Source: News 8 Austin

Sen. John McCain stopped in Tyler Wednesday morning.

During a town hall meeting, the Arizona senator said President Bush should get more credit for protecting the country.

He said the president is part of the reason why there haven't been any attacks on American soil after the Sept. 11 attacks.

In an interview with a Tyler newspaper, McCain said it would be disrespectful to choose a running mate with Mike Huckabee still in the race for the GOP nomination.

3. A day is a lifetime in politics, but I can't see by November McLame being
able to arouse that 19% that still likes Dumbo, and still be able to fool the rest of the electorate into not thinking he and Dumbo were fuck buddies.

Sorry for the language...hope this doesn't get this locked!

6. I liked Obama's line today
"McCain is about the politics of yesterday...I am about the policies for tomorrow." OK I paraphrased but you catch the drift.

The key is twofold to beat McCain. 1. We must always remember to tie him to being old and out of touch. 2. We must always tie him to the Shrub and his failed policies. With nearly 70% against the war in Iraq we must remind that 70% that McCain is a huge part of the problem and that he still thinks it was a good decision.

8. Anthrax.
Anthrax.
Anthrax.
Anthrax.
Anthrax.
Anthrax.

Every time some right winger says that we haven't been attacked since 9-11, ask them about the anthrax attacks.

Someone tried to assassinate leaders in the United States Congress, tried to intimidate the media, and terrorized the nation into buying plastic sheeting and duct tape. I think that counts as an attack on US soil.

How the fuck is he going to pay it back?

And giving him credit for making us safer while bin laden is still not caught, I don't don't see the logic. (and no I don't see bin laden as a threat, only busy and cheney)

I give bush full credit for fucking up this country and the world.

10. He is the reason we HAD 9/11

He put pressure on the FBI to not investivate terrorism. FBI agents had found two hijackers and they were denied permission to expand their investigation.

GW Bush ignored warnings about Osama Bin Laden. He abandoned the issue in favor of Korea/Iraq and missle defense, partly because Osama had been such a high priority for the Clinton administration.

He reduced the state of readiness of the US airforce such that they could not mount an effective defense even if he was available to make the call.

After the first plane hit, he went into an elementary school classroom instead of returning to him command center. This made him unavailable to make a critical call to shoot down jets.

After informed of the second attack, he still refused to move to his command center denying generals the critical authorizations they needed.

He did nothing after the FAA administrator destroyed debriefing tapes from air traffic controllers.

He appointed the 9/11 whitewash committee.

He knew damn well Saddam was not involved but exploited 9/11 in order to convince America on the Iraq boondoggle.

If Gore was president, it wouldn't have happened. Clinton made anti-terrorism a large priority and demanded people demonstrate what they were doing about it. In that environment, the FBI agents tips would have climbed the chain of command instead of being buried.

32. Great response - also
I believe we has special forces ready to go hunt for bin Laden in Afghanistan when Bush came into office, but Bush said "no" to that idea. We also had a subs off the coast of Pakistan ready to fire missiles to get bin Laden if the special forces located him. They were called off as well.

over half a trillion dollar insurgency, corruption and cronyism out of hand,US looking like a fool to the world with Bush's incompetence,5000 dead in an occupation of a country with no real ties to 9/11. Why would any terrorist want to launch an attack that could drive this baboon out of office, when they are getting a much weaker US leaving things as they are?

i am sure the victims of the London Bombing, the Madrid Bombing, the Indonesia bombing, might take issue with your statement regarding Herr. Bush. And what about the Anthrax attacks?

FACT - worldwide terrorism has increased exponentially after the Iraq War.
