Bush to Hold 10am Press Conference
Source: ABC News

ABC News' Ann Compton and John Cochran Report: In a surprise morning press conference from the White House, President Bush will hammer -- again -- at Congress to restore what he considers vital wiretap authority, with legal protection for telephone companies that allow the government to tap their systems.

Bush will address reporters from the White House briefing room at 10:05am.

With economic storm clouds darkening, President Bush will talk about what the government is doing to help families with their high mortgage payments; so far, Bush has forecast no recession.

White House press secretary Dana Perino says in his opening statement, alongside FISA and housing reform, Bush will also press Congress to pass legislation on Iraq war funding and a bill that would increase funding for HIV/AIDS relief in Africa. He is still seeking $108billion for Iraq, and at least $30-billion for "PEPFAR" his Africa AIDS program.

3. Really? OK who the hell is still paying attention to Shrub?
The cable news media will have a crawl and maybe a bullet point headline about whatever the Chimp says and then it will be back to Hill, Obama and MCNut-Job. No one cares, no one believes him, he should just go AWAY.

5. He had no trouble forecasting a recession in 2000
Remember that? Nothing but doom, gloom, and depression from Bush and Cheney. As I recall, we needed a tax cut to fix it.:eyes:

Damn, I'm starting to get stressed all over again about Feinstein, Schumer, and all the rest of those pathetic leaders. I can't believe how Schumer plummeted in my opinion. He'll never come to the top again. Feinstein has always been see-saw, therefore a flat disappointment. Schumer used to be a hero of mine.

8. Schumer is a member of FDD who proudly claims Kristol, Gingrich
Richard Perle, Joe Lieberman and many other PNACers as prominent members.

Schumer is not a friend.

FDD currently are running ads against Democrats. When called to task about that, Schumer, etal have told Talking Points Memo Josh Marshall that he is dropping his FDD (pseudo PNAC) membership.

Schumer is not a friend.

10. FDD - Schumer. Why can't I just write him off and be done with him?
Edited on Thu Feb-28-08 10:53 AM by higher class
Why can't I divorce him? Instead he is there affecting a vote and being a phony. He is a dangerous person. Just like Leiberman.

Thanks for telling me - I had no idea he was (once) on the list. Just knowing he joined with them is enough. Quitting them doesn't make things right with me.

teleprompter. He is just wandering through every answer during this Q & A. He's longer-winded than J. Kerrey at his lengthiest, and can't convey his point.
At long last, some media are able to muster up challenging questions. I can't believe his handlers ever let him respond to questions outside of a handpicked Town Hall scenario.
"Could you win in Ohio today?"
"When it comes to privacy, are you telling the American people to simply suck it up?"
Question : "What do you say to the average American who's hurting economically?" His response consisted of two points: A) The Tax Cuts should remain permanent, and B) We should be exploring for more Oil & gas. What planet is he on?

When he can't explain himself, he reverts to simplistic talking points spoken much louder.

Buried in a rambling answer about the coming change in Russian leadership:
"President Putin and I have had head-butts..."
That might explain this guy's brain damage.

18. Deny it's a recession for 11 months and then blame the new administration
Bush's tactics are so transparent and so idiotic, it's almost like watching a 3-year-old doing a stand-up comedy routine.
