Poll: FDR best modern president

WASHINGTON, Feb. 28 (UPI) -- Franklin D. Roosevelt is the top-rated modern U.S. president, a Zogby International telephone poll found.

Roosevelt has been at the top of Zogby's Presidential Greatness survey since 1997. He lost the No. 1 position twice to fellow Democrat John F. Kennedy, in 2006 and 2002.

In a poll of 1,026 likely voters, 69 percent of respondents this year rated Roosevelt as a "great" president, compared to 67 percent who said the same thing about Kennedy. Republican Ronald Regan was third with 62 percent of respondents giving him a combined great or near-great ranking.

The poll, conducted Feb. 22-23, has a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percent.

2. Roosevelt was considered the best President so Bush

thought he going to war would make him one too. Remember he bragged about being President for the first war of the twenty first century?

War is a failure not a success. Few win except the elite, bankers, war equipment manufacturers, etc. Profiteering in war is very attractive to the greedy who don't have family die or become disabled on a foreign battle field. The profits on our war today doesn't even stay in America but is off-shored so they don't have to pay taxes.

We have to honor and support peaceful negotiation, etc. Empire building always bankrupts the aggressor country in the end. Just think of the trillions wasted on war? We can do what we want and have a better world. The will has to be there. The old hatred and lies gone.

The worst thing to happen to her should have been a fine. She is an example to others that they will do what they want.

No they ACLU hasn't been any help but they did denounce what happened though at the time. They basicly can't do anything except for what the family did when they filed a grievance with the Judicial Tenure Commission in which they in returned advised the Michigan Supreme Court to sensor the judge and they did unanamously.

With education & information made readily available this country would look entirely different. My 2nd favorite President is Lyndon Johnson, but that's a story for another day (maybe a journal entry).

Education and information are their worst enemies. Any dictatorship quells the flow of information immediately...and then reforms the education system to become nothing more than a way to indoctrinate the citizens..and/or keep them totally ignorant of what is actually going on in the world.
