Recall After Pills Found In Frozen Fish (Gorton's)
Source: CBS News

Gorton's Inc. recalled about 1,000 cases of frozen fish in 10 states, including Oklahoma, on Friday after confirming that items a Pennsylvania customer reported finding in her food were pills.

Gorton's said it ordered the recall as a precaution while a laboratory works to determine the nature of the pills. Results are expected early next week.

"Obviously product alteration is a very serious matter," said Jud Reis, vice president of marketing for the company, based in Gloucester, Mass. "We are conducting a full investigation into the source of the problem."

Tracy Rowan of New Freedom called police to report that she bit into one of the pills Sunday after her 9-year-old daughter realized one was in her fish, too. On Friday, Reis said the material was some sort of pill, not compressed batter or bread crumbs.

Rowan described the pills as beige and aspirin-size.

7. That's no joke.
A major shareholder in the Gorton fisheries is one of America's worst-ever Senators, Slade Gorton (nickname amongst lobbyists: "Skeletor").

Gorton spent most of his career trying to overturn the treaty fishing rights of Pacific Northwest Indian tribes, so that his fleet could bring shitty fish sticks to you more profitably.

At one point, when he was AG of Washington State, the Supreme Court went to the unusual length of threatening to send in the National Guard in to enforce its decisions against Gorton, which Gorton continually defied. Once he got into the Senate and virtually every year thereafter, he introduced legislation that would have effectively revoked the sovereignty of all Native American tribes.

His positions on subjects other than hating Indians were typical of the worst right-wing Republicans of his time.

After a getting his ass kicked by Debbie Stabenow, Gorton was personally chosen by AWOL to be on the 9/11 Commission, and Gorton played his part in that white-wash to the tee. When Bush was searching around for a sycophantic criminal who could fill Alberto Gonzales' shoes at the Department of Justice, Gorton's name was mentioned often.

Slade Gorton is an evil, evil man. I don't eat his damned fish sticks, even though the Japanese own them now.

or some other "upper" that line workers would use to keep up with the insane, unsustainable production quotas (just like at the packing houses in Fast Food Nation). :scared:

edit: caps

This pic is from the OP's posted article - NOT Gorton's

Gortons has no pic of it up on their website - why not?

I'd be picking the stuff apart with forks and checking it before throwing it away -

There may be more than pills getting into that food.

I'd wanna know.

15. "Processed" fish can enter the country from China unlabeled. Beware frozen fish sticks!
...or any fish that has been "manufactured." It can come from China.

21. Probably the Chinese or someone else sprinkled
pills in the water for the fish to eat. Banned antibiotics, if this follows the trend.
