Influential Democrats Waiting to Choose Sides
Source: Washington Post

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's trio of victories over Sen. Barack Obama last week appears to have convinced a sizable number of uncommitted Democratic superdelegates to wait until the end of the primaries and caucuses before picking a candidate, according to a survey by The Washington Post.

Many of the 80 uncommitted superdelegates who were contacted over the past several days said they are reluctant to override the clear will of voters. But if Clinton (N.Y.) and Obama (Ill.) are still seen as relatively close in the pledged, or elected, delegate count in June, many said, they will feel free to decide for themselves which of the candidates would make a stronger nominee to run against Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) in the fall.

"You're going to see a lot of delegates remaining uncommitted," said Rep. Mike Doyle (Pa.), who has not endorsed either candidate. "There's a sense that this is going to Denver not resolved."

Obama's victory in yesterday's Wyoming caucuses gave him an additional seven delegates, bringing his total to 1,578. Clinton won five delegates, bringing her total to 1,468, according to the Associated Press. Obama had 61 percent of the votes to Clinton's 38 percent.

I'm getting this bad feeling as a party we're once more going to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Arizona Sen. John McCain, who clinched the Republican presidential nomination Tuesday, may have already benefited from the Democratic infighting. Many Democrats in the NEWSWEEK Poll said that they would back McCain if their favorite candidate were not the nominee.

2. Howard Dean has said that he wants this decided before the convention.
Dean may pressure the superdelegates who haven't announced after the last primary to announce soon after.

3. It already is decided. And the people continue to say so.

One could quibble about a caucus vs a primary, but the pledged delegate are what they are.

Our country is in a ditch compared to when a Clinton was driving. (And another Clinton BFF Bush was driving before that.) The people want real change.

HRC's recent ugly comments and tactics only confirm that she doesn't offer the change that I am looking for. That's me.

What about those uncommitted super-duper delegates whose collective wisdom is so profound that they can "weight the average" and upset the choice of the pledged delegates elected by the various state party procedures?

I hope many will consider the huge hate many people have for the Clintons. That includes irrational Republicans, Independents and disillusioned Democrats like me that have recently grown to loathe her false ambition. Obama might be a fairy tale, but Clinton is a nightmare.

If I have to choose between an atrocity (McBush) and a monster (Clinton) then I might stay home for the first time in years. That choice tells me that we have no choice other than to get more active in our local politics.

5. Your bad feeling was right from long before you had it.

sadly "elections" in Amerika are nothing of the sort.

W. McCain will make it close enough to steal, and stolen it will be.

The MSM will continue to do whatever it is they do, which is whatever the Vhinese and Russian MSMs do for THEIR authoritarian masters.

I am certainly not advocating people don't vote. I will be voting in November for the Democratic Nominee. But we should have no illusions about those "votes" we cast. Our "voting" machines might as well be connected to tiny hamster wheels, for all they have to do with deciding who the next Emperor of Amerika will be.

This thing has long ago passed the tipping point. Just one more signpost:
