Cuba, Spain Talk Renewable Energy

Havana, Mar 12 (Prensa Latina) Cuba and Spain began meeting on renewable energy to better understand each other's aims in this sphere and assess investment opportunities.


The meeting is sponsored by the Basic Industry Ministry (MINBAS), the Higher Council of Chambers of Spain (CCC) and members of the Cuba-Spain Bilateral Committee.



CCC President Raul Becerra told MINBAS president Yadira Garcia and Spanish Ambassador Carlos Alonso Zaldivar about Spain's state of the art technology in this field, in which it is one of the world's leaders.



Juan Arenas, president of the Spanish section of the Bilateral Committee, noted the importance of MINBAS in the development of the Cuban economy and investment in renewable energy.



MINBAS Vice President Juan Manuel Presa said Cuba's Energy Revolution uses aeolic, hydraulic, sugarcane and forestry biomass, as well as photovoltaic energies and biogas, among other sources.
