Watchdog groups question Cheney, Scalia hunting trip
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Justice Antonin Scalia has not indicated whether he will pull out a of an upcoming Supreme Court case involving Vice President Cheney, following reports the two recently went on a hunting trip and had dinner together.

Scalia denies doing anything improper.

Groups involved in a lawsuit against Cheney over his handling of an energy task force Monday questioned Scalia's impartiality, but so far have not said the justice should recuse himself from the executive privilege case.

What could possibly justify a SCJ recusing himself in his friend's trial? Can't imagine.

8. That mind picture is enough to make me heave.
Please stop it. I am still trying to get over the mind picture of Jebbie and Katherine Harris doing it. Now cut that out!

3. This wasn't really a hunting trip
This was a post closed door energy task force meeting to congratulate eachother on a war well done. Could we have recused Clintons penis? Then why are we recusing Cheneys penis?

5. Cheney is sending us a message.
"Us" I mean the people who are pissed. He is reminding us that they have the SCOTUS in their back pocket. With all the love in the air, it might be their front pocket now.

6. Aren't there clear standards
Edited on Tue Jan-20-04 12:32 PM by gandalf
to decide if a judge is prejudiced in a special case?

So much for "honor and integrity"...

7. There sued to be in the Old Reublic, but those rules do not apply to
the Imperial Family, their friends or allies.

So Fat Tony Scalia can do wahtever he pleases.

You think Reichsmarschall Ashcroft will invetigate him?

We have as much chance of Himmler investigating conditions at concentration camps.

The exact same chance.

10. Scalia shouldn't necessarily recuse himself from the case.
Resigning from the SCOTUS would, after all, be preferable.

12. Nothing Scalia does is improper and every ruling he has ever made
as a Federal judge surely was right - far, hard-right.
