Kissinger Says U.S. Should Engage Iran Directly in Negotiations
Source: Bloomberg

March 14 (Bloomberg) -- Former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger said the U.S. should negotiate directly with Iran over its nuclear program and other bilateral issues.

``One should be prepared to negotiate and I think we should be prepared to negotiate about Iran,'' Kissinger, who brokered the end of the 1973 Yom Kippur war and the peace talks with the North Vietnamese, said yesterday in an interview with Bloomberg Television. Asked whether he meant the U.S. should hold direct talks, Kissinger responded: ``yes, I think we should.''

While the U.S. is pursuing a policy of diplomatic pressure on Iran at the United Nations and unilateral sanctions to weaken its access to the international banking system, the Bush administration hasn't ruled out military action to halt Iran's nuclear work, which it says entails developing an atomic bomb.

Iran's foreign minister, Manouchehr Mottaki, said March 9 that Iran wouldn't engage with Washington until a new U.S. president is elected, according to the state-owned Islamic Republic News Agency.

Is Poppy sending a signal to W? Or trying to? Or is the big K just laying a smoke screen?

2. My first thought on reading the headline - smoke mirrors - makes people
think that there is doubt within that political circle. If Dick went ahead, Kissinger would be justifying it.

I believe Fallon is genuine. Kissinger has never been genuine for five minutes of his life when it comes to what he tells us.

He could be gabbing just for the hell of it. He has a sense of humor, however twisted it may be.

Our heads are coming out of the sand and we're learning stuff the rest of the world already knew. But the cabal went ahead on he Iraq binge and appear to want the rest of the binges.
