Weather Channel Founder: Sue Al Gore for Fraud
Source: Fox News (sorry)

The founder of the Weather Channel wants to sue Al Gore for fraud, hoping a legal debate will settle the global-warming debate once and for all.

John Coleman, who founded the cable network in 1982, suggests suing for fraud proponents of global warming, including Al Gore, and companies that sell carbon credits.

"Is he committing financial fraud? That is the question," Coleman said.

"Since we can't get a debate, I thought perhaps if we had a legal challenge and went into a court of law, where it was our scientists and their scientists, and all the legal proceedings with the discovery and all their documents from both sides and scientific testimony from both sides, we could finally get a good solid debate on the issue," Coleman said. "I'm confident that the advocates of 'no significant effect from carbon dioxide' would win the case."

3. do a little search john coleman and you'll find he's another exxon wack job
Here is some Info on John Coleman

the Meteorologist who believes that the large portion of the scientific community who acknowledge the science behind Global Warming/Global Climate Change are a bunch of "wackos"

John Coleman admits that his expertise is in weather, and not in climate change science, and has been a tv weatheramn since he was a freshman in college in 1953.

There is a big difference between tv weather man and scientist, just as there is a difference between a tv nightly news host/pundit and a newsprint journalist.

Scientists actually study, collect data, and perform experiments, and create hypotheses and theories- Meteorologists (There are several sub categories) forecast the weather.

John Coleman was the "wacky weather guy" at channel 7 in Chicago in the "Happy Talk" news fad of the late 1960s and 1970s period- during the time when elderly women were the target audience.

John Coleman once did a stunt saying that if it snowed on a certain day he would do the weather standing on his head wearing only his underwear- It did, and he reniged

John Coleman was later fired and replaced with someone who can actually do real news.

He started the Weather Channel as a way to sell ad time and keep his tired comedy act going- but was later FIRED FROM THE WEATHER CHANNEL! THE CHANNEL HE HELPED START! Because the Weather Channel was sick of his antics.

Then John Coleman got hired by Chicago's Channel 5, because they thought it would boost ratings (it didn't) and they fired him after 6 months.

John Coleman is "famous" for popularizing the term "thorms" and "thowers" to represent thunderstorms and thundershowers.

47. He's only rambling drunkenly about the case he wishes he could afford to pursue...
...and the verdict he'd like to think would be reached, based on his nonexistent years of legal and scientific expertise.

There will never be such a case. He and Fox are conspiring to sow more doubt about global warming.

NOAA and the National Weather Service. The Weather Channel's content is all free to them-no contracts with producers or MLB/NFL/NBA contracts nope all free paid for by you and me.

Great business model huh?

21. I remember that.
IIRC, Santorum wanted to defund and disband NOAA because people could get their weather from The Weather Channel. He backed down when it was explained to him in words of one syllable or less that The Weather Channel got all their information from (drum roll please) NOAA.

it was that Santorrum didn't have the votes to do it. Otherwise it would have been a done deal.

15. "Our scientists" vs. "their scientists"? This joker doesn't know what science IS!
And what a court of law says about scientific evidence is completely irrelevant. The scientific method is the process to decide whether theories are supported by evidence or not.

But then if "his scientists" were competent scientists, they'd know that.

Let me tell you, the jury ain't out on this one. The verdict (beyond a reasonable doubt) has LONG since been rendered.
