Marzah, who led the Death Squad group of killers, said many of the victims of cannibalism were members of the Krahn people of the then Liberian president, Samuel Doe, who Taylor was attempting to overthrow. But those eaten also included soldiers from UN and West African "Ecomog" peacekeeping forces.

"He said we should eat them ... Even the UN white people - he said we could use them as pork to eat," Marzah told the court. "We ate a few , but not many. But many were executed, about 68."

Appearing on CBN's "700 Club" the day before Robertson's blast, Falwell had also cut loose.

What's more, to hear Robertson tell it, one of the abominations prompting God to hide his face from America is this country's self-indulgence, pursuit of financial gain and focus on wealth.

Which is the subject of today's column, and the basis for this humble question: What, pray tell, does the Good Lord make of Pat Robertson's gold-mining venture in Liberia with Charles Taylor, international pariah and one of the most ruthless, greedy and terror-producing heads of state in all of sub-Saharan Africa?

about this before today. I read they cut babies out of pregnant mothers. It's just so sick that this kind of stuff can still happen.

Pat Robertson was seriously in bed with this monster (and Mobutu as well) as a means of beefing up his own personal diamond trade (his Operation Blessing charity was utilized somewhat in this regard - a big no-no).
