Former Saddam Loyalist Surrenders
BAGHDAD, Iraq - A former high-ranking member of Saddam Hussein's Baath Party, accused of involvement in recent insurgent attacks, has surrendered to the U.S. forces in central Iraq, the U.S. military said Tuesday.

Gen. Matloob Muslat Sayer, who was a member of Saddam's Fedayeen Militia, gave himself up on Monday in Al Anbar province, the military said in a statement.

Former Iraqi Intelligence Service officer, Col. Abdul Hadi, was captured last Friday in Ramadi — also in Anbar province, the statement said. It gave no other details.

The province is part of the so-called "Sunni Triangle," the heartland of Saddam loyalists who have been waging a guerrilla war against U.S. forces with roadside bombs, car bombs and hit-and-run gun attacks.

Like when we captured Chemical Ali 72 times, and remember how all the killing stopped after we greased Uday and Qusay? Maybe it's about time to put together another deck of cards, because the freedom fighters errrrrrrrrr.. terrists don't seem to follow along with our (alleged) successes.

I wonder how many of this guys family members the coalition forces had to capture and hold hostage until he came around?

4. are you an American?
I'm confused....are you an American? Personally, I would think you would be happy that someone responsible for killing our troops in Iraq is caught. I see now why our Democrat party is losing to the Pubs.

5. i am an american..
What has capturing the 55 most wanted accomplished for us yet? The capture of Saddam was to be the end of the killing. There is absolutely NOTHING to be happy about in regard to this bullshite invasion. They can round up every last one of the so-called Saddam loyalists and Ba'athists, and the shit would still continue.

oh yeah.. welcome to DU, yadda yadda yadda.
