VP: Iran may have resumed weapon program (there it is)
Source: AP

MUSCAT, Oman - Vice President Dick Cheney retained his tough stance against Iran on Wednesday and said the U.S. is uncertain if Tehran has restarted the nuclear weaponization program that a U.S. intelligence report says it halted in 2003.

Speaking in Oman, a U.S.-allied Arab monarchy and neighbor of Iran's, Cheney told ABC News, "The important thing to keep in mind is the objective that we share with many of our friends in the region, and that is that a nuclear-armed Iran would be very destabilizing for the entire area."

In December an intelligence report known as the National Intelligence Estimate concluded that Iran's nuclear weapons development program was stopped in the fall of 2003 because of international pressure. The report, however, cautioned that Tehran continues to enrich uranium and still could develop a bomb between 2010 and 2015 if it decided to do so.

Critics of the Bush administration said the report should dampen any campaign for a U.S. confrontation with Iran.

But Cheney that that while the NIE said Iran had a program to develop a nuclear warhead, it remains unclear if it has resumed that activity.

2. Bombs away!
And of course is there is another terrorist attack the Nazis will claim it was the Iranians behind it just as they claimed it was the Iraqis behind it and will declare war on Iran.

And the Empress will sit there and say nothing other than impeachment remains off the table.

Seems an impossibility but of course if we found ourselves setting off World War III then Bush might be able to find a way to declare martial law here "for the good of the country" and just suspend the elections.

And of course send those members of Congress who dared to challenge him off to Gitmo.

Cannot happen here some say. What the Germans said as well.

There is no support militarily or domestically for the kind of thing Cheney wants to do. I just have this sickening feeling that they are going to try one last stupid cowboy move before they leave office and leave it to Obama or HRC to clean up. They honestly make me want to vomit.

Get it? If you like the "successful endeavor" in Iraq, then you're gonna love the sequel, 'Mideast Clusterfuck II.' Admiral Fallon just resigned for a reason. What we are seeing right now is the runup to war with Iran.

26. 'Death to Ahmadinejad,' Iranian crowds cry (Iranian youth)
TEHRAN, March 19 (UPI) -- Many Iranian youths rallied in streets across the country, shouting "Death to Ahmadinejad," in celebrations marking the end of the Persian calendar year.

The last Wednesday of the Persian calendar is celebrated as the Fire Festival in Iran, with bonfires and firecrackers marking the occasion.

In the western city of Ahvaz, angry mobs declared "Freedom is our legitimate right" while demonstrators in the western city of Sanandaj shouted "Death to (Iranian President Mahmoud) Ahmadinejad," Ynetnews reported Wednesday.

The police in Tehran were out in force and, though they were met with a barrage of firecrackers, the situation didn't escalate beyond what is typical for the Fire Festival, local reports cited in the news report said.

Ahmed Raza-Radan, the police chief in Tehran, warned demonstrators against violating the rule of law in a news conference.

"The police force has resolved to detain any party-goers who break the law. The secret police will have full control, and will not hesitate to photograph citizens for evidence," he said.

No shit?.. If US was to attack Iran to, under the same pretext as in Iraq.. How dumb do they the american public are, or for the mater the whole world are. DO this Cheney really believe that US can go into war with another country, with the same words, with the same attitude as they was doing with Iraq?????

But I guess, after internal shock and horror the american public as a whole would go back to se what ever are on american hottest home videos and its like... So long american are not aware of how many american soldiers are dying on a regulars basis it looks like you just don't care about war.. Even when american soldiers are dying by the dusin every month..

How about picturing the coffins who are coming to US bases every day, every week every month?.. No it is ILLEGAL to se that.. Why?.. Because then the american PUBLIC WOULD UNDERSTAND THE TRUE COST OF WAR: And this administration will never give the WHOLE PICTURE. Just the picture where american soldiers are wictorius... Never when soldiers are maimed, killed, wounded and in hospital..

Mr Bush and more to the point mr Cheney WANT WAR WITH IRAN. And if not the american public is very clear about the fact that they don't war with Iran, the administration WOULD GO TO WAR WITH IRAN.. The only way this madness US have in their midst now would understand that Iran is off limits. Is to send 10.000 or maybe 100.000 or maybe even a million on the street of Washington DC to say loud and clear that US would not accept WAR with Iran under that "pretext" that mr Cheney and mr Bush are given...

Mr Cheney, and many in this administration have some old grouch with the Iranian regime. And they are using everything they may have to go to war. If you look back on Cheney, and a few Key officials in this Administration you would find that EVERY ONE OF THEM was in office when the Iranian Revolution in 1979 was in motion. And if they was not in OFFICE, they was pretty near the top.. And specially after Reagen get into office you would find many of them in office... You would find out that EVERY ONE OF THEM have a price to pay for their former support of the Iranian regime. And that they was pretty upset because of what followed.. And they want to get even with the iranian people, and government.. Even if it means war, based on lie, lie and many false documents..

And they know, that if you just wave the american flag under the nose of enough american, you would get your war, with support from many american... To the fact are at hand, and the US are been lied to again..

And if the next president is a DEMOCRAT, who was given a war with no end in sight, then the Neo-cons and the current administration would be so happy to say it at least. Specially if the war are going bad, and the republican can use it in the next congress/Senate and in the next president al election... It would give the right a prove that they are the right party for war... Once and for all...

I feel so sorry for america, and for the american public.. I have no word, either in English, or my native language to really say what I feel... Just that I really fear this administration, and what they can do....

44. Another word for fear is apprehension...it's that grumbling in your
gut that something is very, very wrong.

I think what is truly magical is this trip...why did Cheney take this trip? We went to bed one night and then awakened to "Cheney in Middle East"! It's not good.

Yes, that grumbling in my gut are not beeing something less, when I know mr Cheney, or as I call him, Darth Vader (from Star wars) that mr Cheney are on a trip around the Middle-Eeast... When this type of people are going around, when they are telling that they _want_ a war with Iran, then you should be on your guard....

On the other side.. I hope you have a good easter where you are;). With your family and so on;)

34. I believe the U.S. Govt destabilzed that region 5 years ago today
with their shock and awe carnage and the bloody aftermath that followed.
They've made more enemies not less with this undertaking. Al Qaeda or whoever is still bombing foreign outposts since the war began. The threat is still out there the same as it was 5 years ago. Sunnis and Shiiites are still divided. And McCain and Cheney won't step out of their Green Zone to walk amongst the people. They haven't contained anything except their precious oil supply.

35. Compare this spin to the NIE conclusions:
• We assess with high confidence that until fall 2003, Iranian military entities were
working under government direction to develop nuclear weapons.

• We judge with high confidence that the halt lasted at least several years. (Because of
intelligence gaps discussed elsewhere in this Estimate, however, DOE and the NIC
assess with only moderate confidence that the halt to those activities represents a halt
to Iran's entire nuclear weapons program.)

• We assess with moderate confidence Tehran had not restarted its nuclear weapons
program as of mid-2007, but we do not know whether it currently intends to develop
nuclear weapons.

• We continue to assess with moderate-to-high confidence that Iran does not currently
have a nuclear weapon.

• Tehran’s decision to halt its nuclear weapons program suggests it is less determined
to develop nuclear weapons than we have been judging since 2005. Our assessment
that the program probably was halted primarily in response to international pressure
suggests Iran may be more vulnerable to influence on the issue than we judged
previously.

and then you KNOW he's going to give them one last present before he leaves office.

He'll start that war before he leaves. We may have an iranian terrorist attack to "justify" it even, but he will start that war regardless.
