Bush 'grieved' that US toll in Iraq reached 4,000: White House
Source: AFP

WASHINGTON (AFP) - President George W. Bush is "grieved" that the number of US soldiers killed in Iraq has reached 4,000 and assumes responsibility for the decisions he has taken, the White House said Monday.

"He obviously is grieved by the moment, but he mourns the loss of every single life from the very first that was lost in this conflict to the ones that are lost today," said White House spokeswoman Dana Perino.

"And he bears the responsibility for the decisions that he made and he also bears the responsibility to continue to focus on succeeding."

Four US troops were killed when their vehicle was hit by a roadside bomb in Baghdad late Sunday, a US military statement said, taking the toll since the 2003 US-led invasion of Iraq to 4,000.

5. Dick Cheney's is one sick bastard
Vice President Dick Cheney, on a visit to Jerusalem, said earlier that the grim milestone "may have a psychological effect on the public but it's a tragedy that we live in a kind of world where that happens."

OK Dana, you can now take down your "Mission Accomplished" sign. Dana Perino is such a great spokesperson for President Dunsel*. I guess that the moron was so choked up about the losses, that he couldn't do the mourning on his own. It appears that he is convinced that we have all forgotten his powerful words 4,000 dead ago:
"My answer is bring 'em on." —President George W. Bush, on Iraqi insurgents attacking U.S. forces, Washington, D.C., July 3, 2003
Here is the audio clip Presendent Dunsel spewing out those words:
http://politicalhumor.about.com/library/multimedia/bushism_bringemon.mp3

For those of you that don't recall their Star Trek history, the term "dunsel" was used by mid-shipmen in the 23rd century to describe a part which serves no useful purpose.

9. As Iraq Toll Nears 4000 -- Bush Sees a "comma"
http://news.yahoo.com/s/huffpost/20080324/cm_huffpost/092898

Greg Mitchell Mon Mar 24, 12:57 AM ET
"As the U.S. death toll neared the inevitable 4000 in Iraq, President Bush gave the country another pep talk this week on staying the course, while continuing to argue that history will wash the blood off his hands. Nothing has changed in his claim that when humans, or God, look back at this episode, it will seem like only a "comma.""

AP:
"Perino said that Bush spends time every day thinking about those who have lost their lives in battle."

And he's "thinking" (to be generous): SUCKERS!

12. He won't
'cause the guilt's getting to him so bad he now realizes what we Americans have been saying all along--BRING THE TROOPS HOME NOW!

But, I digress. Cheney's the one who really doesn't give a shit which way things go now in this horrible war. That's even scarier.

The economy is strong, and so is our will?

What? He stubbed his toe and combined the pain with grieving for the 4000 American people he sent to thier deaths to prove that he could do it better than`poppie?

...killed, maimed, bereaved, paupered or made homeless by this goddamned war.

Someone issued a press release saying Da Prez is "grieved," but like all * press releases, it's bullshit. Perhaps he wishes Americans would stop dying, but he looooves war.
