Saudi prince claims government kidnapped him to force silence
Edited on Wed Jan-21-04 01:25 PM by seemslikeadream
An outspoken Saudi prince maintains he was kidnapped, drugged and flown home from Switzerland on orders from Saudi officals to stop him from pursuing an anti-corruption campaign.

Prince Sultan bin Turki, a nephew of King Fahd, made the claim in a phone call to The Associated Press from his Riyadh home, where he said he has been confined for months.

1. related to that spate of accidental deaths?
was it last year? there were several weird deaths of Saudi princes. Stuff like heart attacks in healthy young guys, running out of gas in middle of desert from a very experienced driver and on and on.

I'll go scare up some linkage...

2. I recall 2 deaths of Saudi princes last year. One was in a one
man auto accident on his way to a wedding. I don't remember the details of the other, but do remember both happened in America and were fairly close to each other date wise.

I remember mentioning that this seemed odd, particularly in light of the news going around at the time that the King was very ill.

It seemed like the palace intrigue of secession in days gone by.

3. Intrigue, hah!
The tradition of harems is that the son who inherits kills his brothers. Fraternal had a whole other meaning in the good old days.

Alexander the Great did it.
